Edit request (COI): updated lead, History, and Organization sections

edit

I have a conflict of interest as an employee of All Out (disclosed on my user page). Below is a first, well-sourced batch of corrections and updates. The expanded "Campaigns" section will follow as a separate request.

1. Please replace the introduction (from "All Out is a global not-for-profit organisation…" through "…Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Kenya, Portugal, Spain, and the USA.") with:

All Out is a global LGBT rights advocacy organization that campaigns for the human rights of LGBT+ people worldwide. Founded in 2010, it is known for combining online petitions and digital organizing with offline protests, and for raising emergency funds to support local LGBT+ groups.[1][2] It is operated by two United States nonprofit entities: All Out Action Fund, Inc., a 501(c)(4) advocacy body, and All Out Impact Fund, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charity established in 2024. It is registered in New York.[3]

2. Please add a new section after the introduction:

History

edit

All Out was established in 2010 by Andre Banks and Jeremy Heimans, the latter a co-founder of Avaaz and the Purpose organizing firm. It began as a project housed within Purpose before becoming an independent entity, registering in 2014 as All Out Action Fund, Inc.[4][3] Banks served as the first executive director. In 2016, Matt Beard became executive director.[3] In 2024 the organization established a charitable arm, All Out Impact Fund, Inc.[3]

3. Please add a new section immediately before "See also":

Organization and funding

edit

All Out is operated by two U.S. nonprofit organizations: All Out Action Fund, Inc., a 501(c)(4) focused on advocacy, and All Out Impact Fund, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charity established in 2024.[3] A board of directors chaired by Alex Coccia governs it, with Matt Beard as executive director, and it employs a small staff across several countries.[3][5] The organization reports that its funding comes from individual donations, foundation grants and a smaller share of vetted corporate contributions; in 2024 it reported total income of about US$2.57 million.[3] It publishes audited financial statements and U.S. Form 990 filings.[3]

4. Please update the infobox: change the "Chair" field from "Stephen Friedman" to "Alex Coccia".

The existing {{reflist}} will display these citations automatically. Thank you. Mathias Wasik (talk) 17:19, 26 June 2026 (UTC) Mathias Wasik (talk) 17:19, 26 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
