...to reflect the fact that the identification of this location with Alcimoennis as mentioned by Ptolemy is tentative at best, controversial at worst. Whilst a balance of opinion seems to favour this theory, it should not simply be stated as a fact in this article. It is by no means widely accepted (perhaps among local patriots in the Altmühl Valley and tourist offices).
Since Andreas Kleineberg and his research team reinterpreted Ptolemy's coordinates, Alcimoennis seems more likely to have been located in the area around Sontheim/Brenz or the greater Ulm area. 2A02:8070:8A84:1A0:98AB:EFF4:A267:98A7 (talk) 21:10, 23 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
