Cannabis v. Upland needs mention
editAfter the 2017 Cannabis v. Upland decision, the requirement for two-thirds approval for local special taxes has no longer applied to voter initiatives, which now only require 50%+1. This is a significant change to Prop 13 in practice and I was surprised not to find it in this article. Can we add a section on this? Graue (talk) 00:57, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
Chicago Tribune citation link rot
editI see that one of the citations in the article seems to have link rotted. It looks like the URLs/articles were re-arranged between companies both owned at one point by the same parent company (Tribune Publishing), but it doesn't appear to be available on the old website nor does it have a redirect. I'm not sure if it would better to update url=, and website= to the new page while setting the publisher= to the original publisher explicitly and add an archive-url= to the original copy (along with url-status=live) or if I should just leave the url= pointing to the original and add an archive-url (with an implicit url-status=dead).

Option A[2]
Option B[3]
Or maybe the best change is neither of my proposed changes? I'm not a Wikipedia expert so I thought I would post here instead of making the change myself. Greenbeard12 (talk) 06:38, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
- Generally speaking, I would go with option A. It's not necessary to update to the current host of the page, in my opinion - stick with the original, and its archive url as 'dead'. The Wayback Machine browser plugin/extension can save a lot of time in the process. cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 07:59, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks anastrophe, I have updated the citation using option A. Greenbeard12 (talk) 02:47, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
