Event:Meetup/Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland 48.5

Wikipedia Workshop at Te Toi Uku

edit

Enjoy a tour of Te Toi Uku Museum, before learning how to preserve local histories with Tāmaki Paenga Hira's Wikimedian in Residence. The tour will take you through almost two centuries of West Auckland's clay history, from 1840 to 2026, including the iconic story of Crown Lynn Potteries. In the following Wikipedia editing session, you will learn how to preserve these diverse stories for years to come.

During this workshop you will be taught the basics of Wikipedia editing and photo uploading. With the guidance of an experienced Wikimedian, you will be able to enrich and create local history content on Wikipedia, ensuring this part of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s history is accessible and well documented online.
