History
editSeedtag was founded in Madrid in 2014 by Albert Nieto and Jorge Poyatos.[5] In 2016, Seedtag expanded its operations outside Spain, setting up offices in France, Italy, and Mexico.[6][7]
Between 2020 and 2022, Seedtag acquired three advertising technology companies: AtomikAd,[8] Recognified,[9] and KMTX (formerly Keymantics).[10][11]
In 2022, Seedtag opened its U.S. headquarters in New York City[2] and received more than €250 million in investment from Advent International.[3]
In 2024, Seedtag acquired Beachfront, a U.S.-based supply-side platform focused on television and video advertising,[12] and JustEggs, an Australian creative intelligence company.[13]
In July 2025, Seedtag announced the appointment of Brian Gleason as chief executive officer, effective 1 August 2025.[14]
Technology
editSeedtag provides contextual advertising and artificial intelligence technologies for digital advertising.[1] The company's contextual advertising offering is referred to as neuro-contextual advertising.[15]
Seedtag's AI technology, named Liz, uses deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing to understand tone, emotion, and environment across web and CTV.[16][17][15]
The technology analyzes the visual assets on websites, including the keywords they contain, their semantics, and the page structure. It then places ads within the content where they are most likely to receive attention.[2]
In 2025, EMARKETER listed neuro-contextual targeting as a technology trend of the first half of the year and highlighted Seedtag's approach of combining neuroscience research with emotional state detection.[18]
