Mahmood Alam (born 11 May 1973) is an Indian political activist from the state of Jharkhand, India. He has been associated with the Jharkhand Andolankari Morcha, an organisation representing activists who participated in the Jharkhand statehood movement and advocating for recognition, pensions and welfare measures for movement participants.
Early life
editMahmood Alam was born in Vishnugadh in the Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand. He received his early education in local schools in the region.
Activism
editAlam has been associated with activities related to the Jharkhand Andolankari Morcha, an organisation advocating recognition and welfare benefits for people who participated in the movement for the creation of the state of Jharkhand.
The organisation has organised demonstrations, memoranda submissions and public meetings demanding increased honorarium, pensions and government recognition for activists involved in the Jharkhand movement.[1]
