  • Comment: This is not ready for mainspace. The subject may be notable, but the sourcing here is unhelpful. Firstly the sources do not support the text as printed, so for example the first source does not support the quote from Aponte. Secondly some sources are non-specific, such as Loudreaders. Thirdly there is a requirement that sources are in place for every fact that can be queried, see WP:BLP. Finally it seem the best way for this subject to show notability is not what they say or write but what other people say or write about the subject. So for WP:AUTHOR the easiest route is "two books, two book reviews each", by independent reliable sources. Luis Othoniel Rosa

Luis Othoniel Rosa (born 1985, Bayamón, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican intellectual, poet, novelist, and literary scholar. His books explore topics of revolutionary movements in the Caribbean and experiment with poetic forms. As a scholar, he is also the autor of numerous scholarly articles and publications.

Biography

Luis Othoniel Rosa was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, in 1985. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, in 2005, and completed his Ph.D. in Spanish and Portuguese Cultural Studies at Princeton University in 2012, and conducted his postdoctoral research at Duke University. Currently he is a professor at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Rosa is also the founder and head editor of the informal review of books, El Colectivo de Lectores.

Literature

Rosa’s literary work is characterized by formal experimentation, political critique, and engagement with Caribbean and Latin American history. His books include novels, short novels, poetry collections, and experimental bilingual books. Rosa’s work frequently addresses anarchism, decolonial thought, speculative futures, afrofuturism, ecological catastrophe, and collective forms of subjectivity.

Otra vez me alejo (2012)
His debut short novel, first published in Argentina in Editorial Entropía and later in Puerto Rico in Editorial Isla Negra, explores displacement, affect, and diasporic subjectivity through a fragmentary narration.[1] [2]

Caja de fractales (2017; 2nd ed. 2018)
A short experimental and speculative novel set in Puerto Rico during a near future marked by ecological collapse, the end capitalism and the beginning of a new world system. First published in Argentina in Editorial Entropía and later in Puerto Rico, Caja de fractales has been the subject of various scholarly studies in Argentina, Spain, Puerto Rico, Korea and the United States.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

A free translation of Caja de fractales into English was done by the poet, Noel Black, and published by Argos Books in the US with the title Down with Gargamel!
Scholars like Sergio Delgado Moya write that this novel explores the links "between the fictive spaces of the novel and the uprisings that have emerged in Puerto Rico and elsewhere in the Americas in the twenty-first century."[10]

El gato en el remolino / Animal Spiral (2026) An experimental and utopian novel that tells of the birth, life and death of a collective consciousness named the Animal, over the next 377 years. The novel is published in simultaneous editions in Spanish and English, translated by the poet, Katie Mayra, by Charco Press in the UK.

Triste la furia / Sadness, the Fury (2025) A bilingual poetry collection published in Puerto Rico. Like Rosa´s novels, this book of poetry explores the diasporic existence, anarchism, fractal aesthetics and collective conciousness. [11]

Comienzos para una estética anarquista: Borges con Macedonio (2016; revised ed. 2020) A scholarly monograph centered on the influence of anarchism on the literary and philosophical thinking of the Argentine writers, Macedonio Fernández and Jorge Luis Borges. Originally published in Editorial Cuarto Propio (Chile, 2016), later revised and expanded in Ediciones Corregidor (Argentina), this study has been reviewed by scholars in Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Puerto Rico, US and the UK.[12][13]
