Draft:Cavite East–West Lateral Road

  • Comment: Under WP:GEOROAD this draft will need ideally three pieces of independent sourcing, or some other claim to notability (such as being a protected monument). Here there is only one non-primary source, so we need more than this. ChrysGalley (talk) 12:33, 11 July 2026 (UTC)

The Cavite East–West Lateral Road, officially known as the General Aguinaldo–Magallanes–Nasugbu Road, or alternatively by locals as the East-West Road is an ongoing two-to-four lane, 42.75-kilometer (26.56 mi).[1] network of primary and secondary highways in the provinces of Cavite and Batangas, Philippines, passing through rural towns across both provinces.[2]

The highway primarily provides an east–west corridor across western Cavite, connecting the municipalities of Silang, Amadeo, Indang, Maragondon, General Emilio Aguinaldo (Bailen), and Magallanes before extending to Nasugbu in Batangas. The highway also serves to improve regional connectivity by serving as an alternative route to existing roads in Cavite.[3] It also aims to improve the connectivity between the municipalities of central Cavite. Once completed, the project is expected to reduce travel time across CALABARZON, and enhance farm-to-market access and other logistics.[4]

Route description

edit

Silang to Indang

edit

The highway starts in Silang, Cavite, where it intersects with Aguinaldo Highway and traverses the grasslands west into Amadeo and intersects diagonally with Crisanto Mendoza de los Reyes Avenue[5]. The route has minor turns before intersecting Pangil Road between Pangil and Barangay 12, Amadeo.[6] It enters Indang at the Pangil Bridge. It soon continues southwest cutting terrain before shifting south and intersecting Trece Martires–Indang Road. It soon shifts back north intersecting Kayquit Road before temporarily ending abruptly.

Indang to General Emilio Aguinaldo

edit

The highway is non-operational from here until Daine, Indang because the segment until the intersection with Indang–Alfonso Road is under construction. But returning to the operational part, it shifts back north and continues to Diane.[Note 1]

From Daine, the route traverses the rural hills of Indang and Maragondon, crossing several river valleys before entering General Emilio Aguinaldo. It once again encounters a 500-meter long (1640 feet) segment that is currently under construction. It returns to being operational at an intersection with Alfonso-Maragondon Road.

It enters General Emilio Aguinaldo at the Molino Bridge[Note 2] before merging with a barangay road's existing alignment. It drops into a canyon and has a bridge crossing over the Maragondon River and climbs a steep slope once again. It curves north on the intersection with P. Gomez Street to completely circumvent the town proper and abruptly ends in a barangay road once again.

General Emilio Aguinaldo to Nasugbu

edit

The highway from here until the intersection with Aguinaldo-Maragondon Road is under construction. The highway curves south, enters Magallanes, and soon curves northwest. It then intersects Maragondon–Magallanes–Amuyong Road. The highway reaches its terminus at the boundary of Barangay Bulihan and Butucan, Nasugbu at an intersection with Looc Road. The route continues west as Looc Road until it reaches the intersection with Ternate-Nasugbu Road.
