Submission declined on 1 May 2026 by ChrysGalley (talk). No change since the last decline. Fundamentally we need to meet WP:42, and it remains the case that only the ventilation system has that, not the school. We need significant coverage in independent sources.

You can also browse Wikipedia:Featured articles and Wikipedia:Good articles to find examples of Wikipedia's best writing on topics similar to your proposed article. Improving your odds of a speedy review To improve your odds of a faster review, tag your draft with relevant WikiProject tags using the button below. Submission declined on 19 April 2026 by Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk). This draft's references do not show that the subject meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for schools. The draft requires multiple published secondary sources that:
Declined by Hurricane Wind and Fire 2 months ago.
Please add references that meet all three of these criteria. If none exist, the subject is not yet suitable for Wikipedia. Individual faculties, departments, and student clubs are rarely notable on their own. You could add this content to the main educational institution article if one exists instead. |

Comment: Reference 1 does not provide significant coverage and References 2 and 4 are not independent of the subject. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire, why did you decline my draft? (talk) (contribs)🔥 22:30, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
Comment: Commenting in my capacity as @User:Harrison0123's mentor: I went through and cleaned up some of the language in Special:Diff/1341183367 so that language and formatting issues would not get in the way of accepting the draft. However, in doing so, I noticed that there is a lot of information about the school that is not mentioned in the sources, especially in the history section. Harrison0123, can you confirm if you have a conneection to the school? If so, you should declare your conflict of interest. The article can still be accepted, but this must be done first, see WP:DCOI for instructions. 🌸wasianpower🌸 (talk • contribs) 22:54, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
Comment: Reference 1 is routine coverage. We do not need to include the mission of the school and there is some unnecessary language like "slowly but surely". 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 03:20, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
Comment: See WP:NSCHOOL. Sources written by the subject do not count towards notability. Lynch44 01:19, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
Bornblum Jewish Community School was founded by Bert Bornblum in 1988.[1] Bornblum is located in Memphis, Tennessee. It teaches both Jewish and general studies classes.
History
edit
Bornblum began with twenty-five students between all three grades; first, second, and third grade. They began in the nearby Beth Shalom synagogue, on Humphreys Blvd in Memphis[3], and they were taught Jewish studies. Bornblum added students and a grade every year until 1991, when they reached sixth grade. Over the next three years, the seventh and eighth grade classes were also added. The school's first eighth grade graduation was held in June 1995 with eleven students. In 1998, Bornblum moved out of Beth Shalom synagogue into to its current building, on Humphreys Blvd.[1] In 2016, the kindergarten class was added.[4]
Covid-19 HVAC Filters
editOn September 14th, 2021, Bornblum became the first school in the United States to use HVAC filters against COVID-19. These HVAC filters were built to be used specifically for COVID-19, and pandemic safety. Dexwet, the company behind the filters, set Bornblum up to be the inaugural site, endorsing it as the first school in the United States to use filters against COVID-19.[5]
