Blulyt (born Nonofang Disetlhe, 27 May 1998) is a South African singer-songwriter and creative director. She is known for blending Afro-pop, Amapiano, and global pop influences into her music. In 2025, Nigerian media described her as a "genre-defying musician".[9]
Early life and education
editBlulyt was born on 27 May 1998 in South Africa. She studied Performing Arts and Dramatic Art at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), where she earned her degree.[10]
Career
editBlulyt began her musical career in 2018 with a collaboration with South African producer Master KG on the track Lengoma.[11]
In 2021, she contributed a remix of Obani Lababantu to a tribute album honoring the late Gee Six Five. In an interview, she explained that the project allowed her to "pay homage to a pioneer while finding her own voice".[11]
In 2025, Nigerian record label Pond Entertainment signed Blulyt as part of a pan-African initiative, describing her as a "genre-defying musician".[9]
