I spent some time trying to find sources to confirm the existence of the CTB flying squad, however, all I could find on the topic of flying squads in the Ceylon Transport Board was this article on Anil Moonesinghe, referring to his actions as being a 'one-man flying squad' (his actions in particular also being mentioned in History of Sri Lanka Transport Board#Golden age). Therefore, I suspect that this page may have been a misinterpretation of that sentence, mistaking the metaphor for the existence of a flying squad.
