- @OwenBlackerWhilst Hay's project did bring renewed attention to the Peacock Dress, ultimately she did not complete it. She drew significant criticism not just because of the her failure to acknowledge the colonial symbolism of the original dress, but also due of her repeated fundraising attempts with little to show for it.
