History

I have been studying the "brief history" published at the university's English website, and have had trouble trying to work out what these entries mean:

30 Sep 1995 First class of graduate students register and begin their studies.
24 Sep 1996 First class of freshman undergraduates register.
21 June 1997 First graduate student commencement.
10 June 2000 First undergraduate student commencement.

Did graduate students start studies in 1995 or commence studies in 1997? (There must be some distinction between the two, but I can't see it at the moment!)

In 1995 the school receive first graduate students. And in 1997 and 2000, I think, the word "commencement" should be change to "graduation ceremony" or "graduated".Roscoe x 17:01, 9 Aug 2004 (UTC)
