Christian name
editIs this guy Diego or Juan? Or both? --Ptcamn 16:10, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- his name was juan, you may have confused with Juan Diego. Nanahuatzin (talk) 14:13, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Noble birth
editAccording to several scholarly sources Tlacotzin was the grandson of Tlacalael, a noble and brother to Tlatoani Itzcoatl, therefore a noble. It seems he was noble and would qualify on hereditary grounds as a true Tlatoani - while ceremonially he did not go through the traditional investitures and was appointed by Cortes and not the Triple Alliance partners or noble council.
