– In the disambiguation terms of such titles, the word "mayor" is usually lowercased as a term defining a category and thus a common noun. See also the recent RM at Talk:Edward Jones (canon of Windsor) and the overwhelming predominance of titles using "(bishop of ...)" and "(archbishop of ...)" rather than "(Bishop of ...)" and "(Archbishop of ...)", as noted in that discussion. Possibly, these titles could be further simplified, but this would be a step in the right direction. This would be a self-revert of my own undiscussed and apparently unjustified move from 6 years ago for Richard Martyn (Mayor of Galway). — BarrelProof (talk) 21:57, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Support: We should follow MOS:JOBTITLE here like we do elsewhere, though there are plenty of those which have not been fixed. It is a thankless job. (Thanks BarrelProof) SchreiberBike |   23:12, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
