The article currently shows a photo of an OC ribbon, which isn't an appropriate - it should be a photo of Mr. Adamson. PKT(alk) 15:07, 21 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Cawthra Road

edit

I will remove the claim that reads: "Cawthra Road in Mississauga, Ontario is named in his honour." The linking page has been deleted so I can't see where this assertion comes from but it is certainly incorrect. Cawthra Road may be named after the 1925 Cawthra-Elliot Estate (see Cawthra House), which lies next to Cawthra Road, or more broadly on the original 200 acre land grant given to Joseph Cawthra in 1808, through which the road now runs. Adamson was a city reeve from 1953-1954 and the name change was apparently made official some years later in "the 1960s", so it is conceivable he had a hand in the name change. But it was not named in his honour. 171.4.223.17 (talk) 07:12, 24 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
