The 2026 Georgia's 14th congressional district special election was held on March 10, 2026, to fill the vacancy in Georgia's 14th congressional district. The seat became vacant on January 5, 2026, when incumbent Marjorie Taylor Greene resigned.[1]

Under Georgia law, all candidates appeared on one ballot in the March 10, 2026 special election. As no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, a runoff election between district attorney Clay Fuller and cattleman Shawn Harris was held on April 7, 2026,[2] with Fuller winning to serve the remainder of the 119th United States Congress, ending January 3, 2027.[3]
Background
editOn November 21, 2025, Greene announced her resignation from Congress effective January 5, 2026, citing her disagreements with President Donald Trump over his handling of the Epstein files.[4] The following day, Governor Brian Kemp scheduled a special election for March 10, 2026, with a runoff set for April 7 if no candidate received a majority of the vote.[5]
