The 2025–26 Washington Capitals season was the 52nd season (51st season of play) for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 11, 1974.

On April 13, the Capitals were eliminated from playoff contention for the first time since the 2022–23 season following a 3–2 shootout win by the Philadelphia Flyers against the Carolina Hurricanes.^[1]^[2]
