Ongoing – Cyprus dispute

  • 13 December – The European Union invited the country along with Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and Malta to join. Expansion is scheduled for May 2004.[1]
