Request for guidance on possible article: Mariana Monteagudo
edit
Hello WikiProject Venezuela editors,
I am seeking guidance regarding the potential creation of a Wikipedia article about Mariana Monteagudo, a Venezuelan sculptor whose work is held in permanent museum collections and has been written about in independent art publications.
To support evaluation, I have added structured biographical information and independent references to Wikidata, including exhibitions and awards. I’ve also created a Wikidata item for the documentary *Uncanny: The Dolls of Mariana Monteagudo* (directed by Elaine Minionis), linking her as the main subject and including reception of a Suncoast Regional Emmy Award, all with independent sourcing.
As I have a professional connection to the subject, I am following conflict-of-interest guidelines and do not intend to create the article myself. I would appreciate any guidance on notability, sourcing, or whether this would be appropriate for article creation.
Thank you for your time. Wikiproposal2026 (talk) 12:40, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- I didn’t get a chance to see the draft, but after doing a quick search, IMHO it doesn't meet WP:NBIO at this point. A Suncoast Regional Emmy Award isn’t the same as an Emmy Award.
- Personally, I’d suggest holding off for now and revisiting it later, once there are more solid independent sources that clearly establish the subject’s notability, Oscar_. (talk) 14:35, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
Major updates in Venezuela had been going on. Somebody should update her article. Right now I am mostly busy with the prisoner release article and the intervention article but much can be taken from those two. ReyHahn (talk) 20:51, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
Project members are invited to participate in the Destubathon of the Americas, a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to $2680 in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Hopefully we can achieve something significant in the month of May together! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:17, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
