RfC about what are proper names
editThere is a RfC about proper names at MOS/Caps/RfC: What is a proper name. This seems simple but is often a very contentious subject and really could use Sammy D III (talk) 21:48, 10 June 2025 (UTC)

The article Automatic vehicle tracking has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Tagged as Unreferenced for 11 years. Someone tried to slip in a dead link. No other language has an article from which to translate. Proposed policies and laws are almost never notable and are subject to WP:CRYSTAL.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. COI review request — SystemC external links suggestion

I've posted a COI-disclosed suggestion on the Talk:SystemC page regarding two free SystemC learning resources (article series + interactive studio).
Would appreciate a neutral editor's review.

Need help on Infobox integrated circuit
editWe have inboxes for "components", but that covers things like LEDs and resistors, and at the other end we have inboxes for CPUs and even backplanes and such, but nothing suitable for the 555 or POKEY, for instance. Can someone help me make a suitable infobox for these? Maury Markowitz (talk) 14:29, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
- What Maury doesn't mention is that this was first raised at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Infoboxes#Template:Infobox integrated circuit. Also, if 555 is the same as 555 timer IC, it's already got an infobox. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:07, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, but the infobox in 555 is the "electronic component" one, which is what I would like to improve upon. Maury Markowitz (talk) 20:15, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
- Before starting a template, it probably would be best to discuss and create a work page that for fields in this new template, such as: field name, description/purpose for each field, and examples for each field. This method would allow people to bring of concerns and/or issues that need to be resolved to make the template resonably useful. • Sbmeirow • Talk • 10:47, 23 May 2026 (UTC)

- Delete - No refs except from the company's own publications. Constant314 (talk) 09:56, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Constant314: This is not a deletion discussion - if it were, it would be held at WP:AFD. The post that you replied to is the notification of a proposed deletion; please follow that link for full directions of what to do if you agree or disagree with the proposal. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:14, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- Is such a comment not allowed here? Constant314 (talk) 11:09, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- It's not "not allowed", but it's pointless. The notification message above was one of several that were left in accordance with WP:PROD#During nomination, step 5. The administrator who ultimately decides whether to delete or keep will not look around for such notification messages, and will certainly not consider comments left on those notifications. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 11:28, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- But it might motivate someone to look at the article. Constant314 (talk) 11:48, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
