The DCWC is back!
edit
WikiProject Belize, the Developing Countries WikiContest will be returning for a second year, and sign-ups are now open! The contest will run from 1 July to 30 September, and the objective remains the same: improve as many articles relating to developing countries as you can to help fight systemic bias on Wikipedia.
In other news, we have a new face on the coordinator team this year: last year's sixth-place finisher, Arconning (talk · contribs)! The coordinators would like to extend a sincere thanks to Ixtal (talk · contribs), who is leaving the team, without whom the contest would not exist. After feedback from contestants last year, the scoring rules are undergoing some modifications; the new rules and a summary of the changes made will be posted to the contest talk page shortly.
If you have any questions, please leave a message on the contest talk page, use the {{@DCWC coordinators}} template, or contact one of the coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), or TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs). List stuff to do -
- Per WP:PRJ: none

- End report (at least for now) –
- Stuff done –
- Basically redid the main proj page, mostly to declutter it, optimise for new arrivals, give a sense of scope at a glance, so on (ifl this minimal main page would be easier on new arrivals, easier to navigate),
- added copy/content to main proj page,
- created vars subpages, added copy/content to some of them,
- tagged some members as inactive (Kaldari is retired, Aaronhumes hasn't edited since 2013, John Carter is on indefinite ban since 2018).
- To do still –
- add guidance (currently none),
- set up new articles subpage,
- maybe some other stuff from the WPs above.
- Lmk if anything's not ok? Would appreciate feedback :)
- Ps ifl we all oughtta watchlist /Requests and /To do, if possible?

- It's unlikely to get much attention I'm afraid, it really needs editors in Belize to be working on it! John Carter started a lot of country projects but a lot of them were over optimistic. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:45, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- Oh yh for sure, will still plough on though :) - Asdfjrjjj (talk) 18:59, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- To editor Gonnym: hi would you mind if I restored the Wikipedia:WikiProject Belize/Baymens humour button on this project's main page (removed 30 Nov 2025)? I feel like the humour was properly tagged so it doesn't really feel like it hijacks this project page, imo? Will revert soon but lmk if that breaches some WP guidance/etc, or if you'd really prefer I not :) - Asdfjrjjj (talk) 18:02, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
- No. Keep the humor crap away from non-humor pages. Gonnym (talk) 23:03, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
- To editor Gonnym: Ahhh sorry in that case! (We do need a link from main pg to /Baymens though [otherwise the subpg is orphaned], so I'll adding that to a note and the Contents table, but lmk if that breaches some WP guidance/etc?) - Asdfjrjjj (talk) 00:55, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

Discussion about WikiProject banner templates
editFor WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:
- "This article has been rated as Low-importance on the importance scale."
There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Proposal to update wording on WikiProject banners. Project members are invited to participate in the Destubathon of the Americas, a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to $2680 in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Hopefully we can achieve something significant in the month of May together! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:15, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
