1RR WP:CTOP restrictions and templates

Do the 1RR restrictions extend to templates transcluded into the affected articles (especially when those templates are one-offs created exclusively for use in the affected article, and where the Template talk page redirects to the article that is a WP:CTOP)? Eg: 2026 Iran war has a WP:CTOP notice on the talk page, and Template:2026 Iran war infobox is transcluded into that article. As a secondary question if the CTOP restrictions extend to templates (and other such pages), in this case would 1RR apply to the entire set of pages? Eg: If you revert on the main article, and then revert on a template, you would be violating 1RR? And must the editor be notified with Ds/aware even if they've edited on the talk page where the notice is at the top? —Locke Cole • t • c • b 01:50, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Apologies for the delay in responding, Locke Cole! 1RR applies to the entire topic area, so it applies to templates. I don't think reverting on an article and then reverting on a template is a violation of the bright-line 1RR, but it might be considered poor behavior—edit warring is much more than not breaking 3RR/1RR. Awareness has recently been repealed, so "this experienced editor was edit warring, and the page contained an edit notice" might be considered sufficient warning. On a separate note, I appreciate the discussion in the section "How does this work at the arbitration enforcement noticeboard?" regarding warnings about similar behaviour in non-contentious topic areas. I feel this appropriately places more emphasis on users being made aware of poor behaviour, rather than their having to know about the process for enacting any resulting restrictions. isaacl (talk) 17:47, 3 July 2026 (UTC)

Multi-account troll attack on the Candy Candy article

Maze1995, EleannaS and DaniellaND are the same person. This is a troll who uses multiple accounts to spread misinformation, sow chaos, instigate edit wars, and insult and threaten users and administrators. They are currently aggressively targeting the Candy Candy article—specifically its talk page (Talk:Candy Candy). I request that this user be blocked to put a stop to these attacks.
