Propose merging Template:Infobox baseball series with Template:Infobox baseball championship series.
These are basically the same template. Template:Infobox baseball series is only used on a half dozen pages. No reason it cannot be merged. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 02:27, 25 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Merge. From a quick look it does seem that both are for multi-day baseball games in a series. The name should be the general one (as not every one is a championship game). Gonnym (talk) 07:02, 2 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

As this trust has only three hospitals this infobox is of little value, all it does is link three articles. Navboxes should be reserved for trusts which have a larger number of hospitals, at least five, where having a navbox can aid in navigation.

This navbox serves basically as a small list only Elshad (talk) 14:35, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. 4 links is just enough. Gonnym (talk) 07:03, 2 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Weak Keep. It's quite possible a future attempt at deletion will attract a different set of random editors and reach a different conclusion. Unless someone can produce a stable consensus for a given minimum number of navbox links, I don't see this as a hill worth dying on. CapnZapp (talk) 08:27, 3 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

This is not something we need to be warning editors about. Salting is done very infrequently nowadays, as it is ineffective against any determined editor, and people creating titles that need to be salted or blacklisted generally already know that what they're doing is not desired. If by some miracle they do not, I don't see any benefit in letting them know about a request for salting. Do we really need them to comment on the validity of the request?

The template itself is a mess: It seems to be talking both about title blacklisting and creation protection, which are two different things, and asks the reader to request unprotection for a title that the first sentence says isn't even protected yet.

I suggest deleting this template for all these reasons and WP:TNT. Alternatively, it could be converted into a general warning against evading creation protection or the title blacklist, with no reference to tagging for protection or blacklisting, no prediction about the frequency of those actions, and perhaps a mention that the newly-created page may be deleted if the original reason for deletion has not been addressed. Toadspike [Talk] 10:50, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: Lots of stuff to untangle here. First off, what is the intended purpose of the template? Unless I'm mistaken it is supposed to be used as an analog to the template that brought me here, {{Template for discussion}}; that is, "this page is proposed to be salted" as if there existed an "Articles for salting" forum, rather than "this page has been salted" (which, again correct me if I'm wrong, is communicated through a log entry saying something like "WP:SALTing page" or "added to WP:PT". What do you mean by salting is is ineffective against any determined editor (unless you simply mean what the template itself brings up, just varying page titles slightly?) Can you provide context on your claim Salting is done very infrequently nowadays and why we should remove a template just because it isn't used as often as it used to be? You argue as if this is a warning template directed at bad-faith users, which, okay, but I don't completely get it. If I came across it, I would simply think it is information explaining why a page is slated for salting (when this isn't immediately obvious, see Category:Motherfuckers :) A little preamble would be good if you want informed feedback.
As for any weaknesses of how the template is designed and/or worded, let's discuss that on its talk page without a deletion discussion hanging over it. Do note I'm not !voting against you, I mostly think a little bit of extra context would add value to this discussion. Regards, CapnZapp (talk) 10:27, 2 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@CapnZapp Thank you for asking. I thought I didn't have the tech skills to produce hard evidence, but I've done a quick analysis and posted the results at User:Toadspike/Salt. It does appear that the proportion of protection actions that are creation protections is much lower today (2020, 2025, and 2026 sampled) compared to when this template was created in 2010 (2010, 2011, and 2012 sampled). As for deletion, this template appears to have no useful purpose, and unless one can be articulated, it should be deleted to prevent people using it.
Back when it was created, it read "A tag has been placed on [[:{{{1}}}]] requesting that it be protected against recreation." Notifying the page creator of a tag is sensible, but we no longer request salting by tagging pages. The template was modified in 2015 with the edit summary "We don't place tags requesting protection; if a certain salted title is repeatedly recreated under different titles, it is added to the title blacklist", which is sometimes true, but isn't an accurate blanket statement. There are a lot (I'd guess thousands?) of frequent UPE targets that are deliberately left unprotected so we can catch new socks and so recreations happen where we can see them, rather than at another title. Toadspike [Talk] 19:35, 2 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Delete neither incarnation of this template (a requested salting addition nor a requested title blacklist addition) needs a user warning noting it. * Pppery * in solidarity 00:33, 3 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

This seems to be a navbox for a very select number of video artists, of which there are thousands. Best left for category navigation, see Category:Video artists by nationality. --woodensuperman 10:36, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. This kind of template will either lead to a bias selection or be too large. Both are bad. Gonnym (talk) 16:18, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
