Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2026 July 6
I have merged the functionality from the fork back into {{population pyramid}} so there is no longer a need for this fork. Frietjes (talk) 19:22, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
WP:NENAN. Similar to TfDs for 2002 Kerry Junior Team, 2014 Kerry Junior Team, etc, a majority of the subjects in this template are not notable (and will always be red links) and therefore the value of this template is questionable. Largely just a team sheet dressed-up as a template.... Guliolopez (talk) 16:58, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

- Template:Redone (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Non-functioning template created by new editor for disruptive purposes. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 17:52, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
- Module:Redone also exists. No idea what "Redone" refers to. Gonnym (talk) 18:52, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
- Template:Infobox Spanish missions in the Americas (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Way too many parameters in this Infobox that violate MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE. With only 64 article uses, I suggest replacing them all with Template:Infobox historic site. Any information that cannot be placed in Infobox historic site, does not belong in the Infobox for these articles. Examples include listing the number of burials and marriages that supposedly took place at the mission. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 19:58, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
- Keep: The Spanish missions in the Americas were a unique expression of colonialism that have their own dedicated researchers, body of academic literature, and cultural legacy. More than 60 articles is plenty to justify a discrete template that distinguishes particular characteristics of the missions. Parameters like numbers of burials are actually relatively useful: they can help readers see at a glance one of the oft-discussed elements of missions that have been held up as evidence of their role in genocide against Indigenous Americans. A more narrowly tailored tweaking of this specific template is wholly appropriate and probably necessary, but outright deletion is probably an overcorrection. As this is not Wookieepedia, we should probably be a bit hesitant to create new templates premises on particular periods of time within the canon of Star Wars rather than real-world characteristics. There might be occasions where this is merited, but the fact that this template is primarily being added to pages with too many templates already makes its redundancy more obvious. ~ Pbritti (talk) 20:55, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
- Keep: Given the more interconnected nature of recent Star Wars projects, with some plotlines even being resolved through the comics, I'd say a template for some eras in the series, like the New Republic, are more than warranted, given the latest movie is sequel to a streaming series.--Kulik5120 (talk) 03:36, 4 July 2026 (UTC)

With under 100 usages, there is no reason for one US state to have its own historic site Infobox, these should just be replaced with Template:Infobox historic site. Otherwise, we open the door for all 50 states to each have their own custom historic site Infobox. Then what about other countries and subdivisions within those countries... Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 23:19, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
- Delete: The template Infobox NRHP exists because places on the National Register of Historic Places are presumed notable. This is not the case for state-level registries and Infobox historic site exists for those rare instances where a place is on a state registry but not on the federal NRHP. ~ Pbritti (talk) 00:31, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Keep: This template was discussed previously with a keep decision: Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2014 April 21#Template:Infobox_PAhistoric. The same rationale for its existence apply: the template is necessary because non-NRHP listed sites, landmarks and designations are outside of the scope of both the NRHP project and infobox as well as the Infobox historic. Further explanation for the necessity of the infobox has previously been provided on template's talk page. Because the necessity for the particular scope is unique, the stated rationale for deletion because of fear of a proliferation of similar state infoboxes have proven unfounded over the past 16 years of its use. I also note that the Pennsylvania Wikiproject appears not to have been notified of this nomination raising the question of sufficient notification of the nomination by the original nominator. CrazyPaco (talk) 17:49, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Crazypaco: There is ZERO requirement to notify any project of a TFD discussion neither you nor any wikiproject WP:OWN an Infobox. The fact that 12 years ago this was discussed and closed as "Keep for now" has no relevance on it being discussed once again. I maintain that there is nothing unique about Pennsylvania that means that other existing Infoboxes cannot be used. Paco based on your argument we also need to create {{Infobox Virginia historic site}}, {{Infobox Florida historic site}}, {{Infobox California historic site}} and the other 46 US states. That is before we even start considering historic sites outside of the US. All of the information displaying in this template, can be displayed using {{Infobox historic site}} or {{Infobox NRHP}}. - Template:Infobox hut (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
With under 80 uses in articles, this Infobox is full of stuff that doesn't belong in an Infobox per MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE. Things like catering, water, emergency beds, winter room... Wikipedia is not a guidebook and none of this is of encyclopedic value. Not sure what Infobox is best to replace these, I'm leaning {{Infobox building}} as these huts seem to closely resemble hotels and {{Infobox hotel}} is a redirect to Infobox building, but am open to alternatives.
