Use of this will be waiting on changes to {{Infobox Australian place}} to (a) be finalised in discussions and (b) be actualy implemented in that template. Propose merging Template:Infobox law school with Template:Infobox university.

Further, there are a number of US-specific and law-specific parameters (such as USNWR ranking and ABA profile) in infobox law school that are inappropriate for a broad, international template like infobox university.   • Oppose: As others have said, the university infobox is already inundated with rarely used parameters, and adding law school specific parameters to it is simply not appropriate.   • Support I have looked at several university's schools of medicine and schools of engineering and have found no specialized template for those, they simply use Infobox university, so I see no reason for law schools to have a separate infobox when other schools/colleges within universities don't. --rogerd (talk) 16:17, 9 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. At a quick gander, there are maybe an additional 2 properties that would need to be added to infobox university. It's entirely unconvincing to me to argue in favor of "these are too niche". Having done a ton of infobox replacement in the wild as part of MediaWiki talk:Common.css/to do, I hate the smattering of random sports and organization infoboxes we have. Oppose. Per ElKevbo, the university infobox is a nightmare already in my experience as well. Whenever I see "The template Infobox … is being considered for merging/deletion.", I'm already thinking "What asinine reason someone found to mess up that infobox again?"
