I've listed this article for peer review because UFC Freedom 250 needs improvements on combat sports events landing on the White House by US Presidents.
Thanks, Governmentshutdown2026 (talk) 01:06, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Governmentshutdown2026: From WP:Peer review: This process is a feature where an editor can receive feedback from others on how to improve an article they are working on, or receive advice about a specific issue queried by the editor. Since you cannot edit this page due to an arbitration enforcement restriction, can you please indicate the issue here? Tbhotch™ (CC BY-SA 4.0) 02:07, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Tbhotch: Seeking peer review on how to "improve an article" on the U.S History part of the article in the UFC Freedom 250. I mean this combat sport event is being done on the South Lawn on the White House. I feel like there are a lot of room for improvements on "history" part of the article and MMA is not only content that need improvement. ECP will expire less than 24 hours. - Good day @Governmentshutdown2026, and thanks for bringing this to peer review. Are you referring to the Background? I'll try to give general comments first, usually minor points, from a first reading. Other editors more knowledgeable about UFC or MMA and events in the White House can give more specific feedback. I'll expand this list as I find more points for improvement.
- Since the event in done already and it's been around a week, we can start expanding the lead. The summary in the lead can be handy for those unfamiliar with UFC or similar events.
- Providing basic definitions for "weigh-in" (possibly through an article section) or "card" in Background can help accessibility.
- Two obvious concerns raised by media, fighters, and fans alike were how the UFC planned to deal with the summer sun and heat, and the possibility of rain—or worse, a thunderstorm. could be Concerns were raised regarding the possibility of rain or hot weather. - (minor) Add wikilinks to the publishers/websites of the references. For instance, we can have CBS Sports or The Guardian.
- I suggest adding another source such as this to verify that this is the only UFC event to end with all fights ending by knockout such as this Time report. This could be a loose application of WP:EXCEPTIONAL.
- He also reported that Pereira vs. Gane had initially been planned as the main event before the promotion asked Topuria whether he preferred to face Makhachev at welterweight or Gaethje at lightweight. Topuria reportedly chose Makhachev, but the bout was not made after Makhachev was unavailable due to a hand injury, leading to Gaethje receiving the title fight. There seems to be an abrupt sentence end around "before the promotion asked Topuria". We can also shorten the second sentence through a copyedit.
