- That's an insightful graph. If you can find the lengths of the bars in a table (more accurate than measuring off the diagram), I'll be happy to remake it. I'd overlay it over a faded map of the world to make it easier to identify which region is which. - Thank you for offering to help! I tracked down an Excel file with relevant data at https://zenodo.org/records/17059785 . This data appears to be used for a chart on page 1639 in the 2025 EAT-Lancet report.[1] The report is available through the Wikipedia Library, or if you email me I can email you a copy. I did not find any data to explain the "other" category or why some bars in the Guardian's chart are grey instead of pink. I think it would be OK to just leave them out. - @Cmglee and Clayoquot: I get the following data from the "pivot table" tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet. I hope Clayoquot can verify if that is the needed data.
- cmglee: I am able to copy the sloppy-looking text from below and paste it into an Excel spreadsheet, and the data arranges in nice rows and columns as in the original source. I hope this helps.

Thanks for getting the data. I'm unsure what the codes WLD, HIC etc map to, as the number of rows is not eight as in Guardian's graphic. Splitting the world into 7 regions (+PHD) fits comfortably in my opinion.
Nevertheless, I've made this diagram using dummy data. If someone could tell me how to read the table, I'll plug it into the JavaScript.

- @痛:: Thanks for vectorizing the file. Unfortunately, you did not mention anything about it here so I went a week without knowing that it was done, the fact that the file done by you was called "Juprelle flag.svg" instead of "Flag of Juprelle.svg" was a major factor into why I was unaware of the fact. Can you please come here so I can thank you? Your work is great!!! --~2025-40166-74 (talk) 21:45, 13 December 2025 (UTC)

- Could somebody please create an SVG file of Jim Hayes' proposed flag for Utah from the 2001 contest held by the Utne Reader, as seen here (bottom-left)? Note the inclusion of the vertical white stripe along the hoist, which may be easy to miss at first glance. And it should also be noted that the parts of the flag that appear to be orange are actually intended to be red, which is confirmed in the description beneath it. Thanks. I know they do appear to be orange at first glance in the visual source, but the description underneath the flag in the same source does specifically say that they're actually intended to be red (I'm guessing that they appeared orange in the magazine due to a shortage of red ink in the printer or something like that?). - Would it be possible to make a free version of the bar chart titled "Planetary health diet v current diets" shown in this Guardian article? This was suggested by Wuerzele on the talk page and it makes sense to me. Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 02:59, 3 November 2025 (UTC)

- That's an insightful graph. If you can find the lengths of the bars in a table (more accurate than measuring off the diagram), I'll be happy to remake it. I'd overlay it over a faded map of the world to make it easier to identify which region is which. Lastly, any idea why the Other bars are grey, not pink when they exceed the recommendation? cmɢʟee τaʟκ (please add

Request taken.- @Clayoquot:@RCraig09: Thanks for your references. However, the zenodo one gave me 504 Gateway Time-out and the Lancet one is paywalled. Can someone please extract the relevant figures into a table here? E.g. rows are food types while columns are regions, the first column being the recommendation? Any units are fine as long as I can scale them linearly? Cheers, cmɢʟee τaʟκ (please add

- (The Lancet chart was merely a horizontal bar chart; I'm not even sure if it's the same data, sorry.)

I think this might make things clearer. —RCraig09 (talk) 21:16, 5 November 2025 (UTC)

{{ping|cmglee}}to your reply) 21:19, 5 November 2025 (UTC)- @Cmglee: By the process of elimination (not affirmative reasoning ;-) ), I think WLD/World might indeed be the planetary health diet. I'm afraid the only way to find out would be to introduce it into your chart based on the assumption, and see if it matches the source's chart. —RCraig09 (talk) 21:29, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
- I've put in @RCraig09:'s data (please refresh and see thumbnail above). It seems WLD is world average, so I used the table from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planetary_health_diet#Definition,_composition . The charts are very different from Guardian's graphic.
- The numbers are also hard to see as Sub-Saharan Africa's 978.61 g of roots overwhelms most other values. I could use a log graph or truncate it, but it might mislead. Any suggestions? cmɢʟee τaʟκ (please add
{{ping|cmglee}}to your reply) 22:02, 5 November 2025 (UTC)- @Cmglee: Sorry, I've always been at a loss for the details of the requested chart. SSA's roots values seem to be large in comparison to other bars, but not as extreme as you note. Maybe Clayoquot could zero in on what is the exact data source, and the ultimate goal. - @RCraig09: No problem, thanks for your help. Ping me if anyone wishes me to look at it again.
