Otago Magazine Project
editThe back issues of fifty Otago Magazines are available as pdfs here. Working through the magazines, we can record profiles and images that would be useful resources for improving Wikipedia and Wikidata.
University Bindery Project
editThe University Bindery is the last university bindery operating in New Zealand, and possibly including Australia. The bindery closes this year, and library staff have been working with the media team to arrange a documentary to capture the activities and processes of a university bindery. We are discussing how we could incorporate some Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia work into this project.

editWith the help of the Wikipedia community we tracked down contact details for a photographer who had taken images of University of Otago Wellington, and he kindly gave permission to upload his images under a CC BY4.0 licence to Commons. Twenty-seven images of the refurbished Walsh building and the new Clinical Services Building were uploaded to Wikimedia Commons see https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:University_of_Otago_dentistry_buildings.

editSome out of copyright images were identified related to the College of Education and other staff. Some have been uploaded to Commons and used on Wikipedia.
