This article is about Firefly, a character from the 2023 video game Honkai: Star Rail published by miHoYo. She is a member of the in-game fictional organization known as the Stellaron Hunters, and operates a mech called SAM. She is seemingly killed three times in the game's story, but is revealed to ultimately be alive at the end. She was generally receive positively by critics and players, including myself. I translated the article over from the Chinese Wikipedia earlier this year and got it to GA in March. After that, I submitted the article to DYK, where a fact from it appeared on April 5 of this year. Firefly is one of my favorite characters in the game, and successfully getting this to FA would be my first Four Award (I am considering myself the creator of the article on English Wikipedia, since I translated the majority of the content into English and brought the article over into mainspace - diff; for transparency, it was previously a draft by another user - diff.) Pinging @Nahida (the draft's creator), @Tomobe03 (the GA reviewer), @Lflin16 (the person who approved the article's hook at DYK). Also pinging @GrandCeres and SuperGrey, both of whom did a significant amount of work on the Chinese version of the article. Gommeh (talk 🎮 sign) 15:27, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

editStaking out a spot here. I don't have any experience with Honkai Rail, so this will be interesting. Icepinner (Come to Hakurei Shrine!) 17:10, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- In terms of gameplay it's not too dissimilar to Genshin, except that HSR is not an open-world game so exploration is more limited. Several gameplay terms are different between the two though (e.g. Archon Quests vs Trailblaze Missions both refer to segments of the main storyline), so if you need help with anything let me know. Creation and design
edit- "On April 23, HoYoverse(→) released her official character artwork.[3][5] On June 17, they released trailers for her character story and gameplay,[6][7]" I feel this may be a bit repetitive. I am tempted to go with something like "On April 23, HoYoverse(→) released her official character artwork,[3][5] and on June 17, they released trailers for her character story and gameplay,[6][7] as well as an animated short featuring her called The Embers of Glamoth", but I fear this may be too long. Icepinner (Come to Hakurei Shrine!) 17:23, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- Personally I don't think it's too long. Gommeh (talk 🎮 sign) 17:34, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- "HoYoverse also introduced her signature Light Cone" what is a "Light Cone"? Icepinner (Come to Hakurei Shrine!) 17:23, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- Light Cones are the HSR equivalent to weapons; this has been clarified. Gommeh (talk 🎮 sign) 17:35, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- "In the lore, SAM is the abbreviation for Fyrefly Type-IV Strategic Assault Mech" this has already been established in footnote a, so I'm not sure why this is here. Icepinner (Come to Hakurei Shrine!) 17:23, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- Removed. Gommeh (talk 🎮 sign) 17:35, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- "arthrochalasia type of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome" perhaps this should be specifcally linked to Ehlers–Danlos syndrome#Arthrochalasia? Icepinner (Come to Hakurei Shrine!) 17:23, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- Adjusted. Gommeh (talk 🎮 sign) 17:36, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- "Firefly is voiced in Chinese by Song Yuanyuan, and in Korean by Yu Hye-ji [ko]" out of curiosity, do the other VAs have chronic illnesses, and if so, what type? Icepinner (Come to Hakurei Shrine!) 17:23, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- Not that I know of. Gommeh (talk 🎮 sign) 17:36, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

editReserving a spot. I'll hopefully have comments later today or tomorrow at the latest. -- ZooBlazer 17:46, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- Entropy Loss Syndrome which causes a gradual physical and mental dissociation — There should be a comma before "which"
- Done.
- can switch between her normal human form and said mechanical form in-game — "said mechanical form" reads a bit weird. Maybe change it to something like "and her mechanical form in-game" or something along those lines.
- Done.
- and burst into tears later —> "and was moved to tears"
- Done.
- The Stellaron Hunters are a group which walks the Path of the Finality — Change "which" to "that" or "who walk"
- Done.
- after they did so — Change to "after they do so" or "afterward" since this is a tense shift
- Done.
- confesses that she is a stowaway and told the Trailblazer — Another tense shift. Change "told" to "tells"
- Done.
- senses that Firefly had re-entered the Dreamscape — Change "had re-entered" to "has re-entered"
- Done.
- After the Trailblazer awakened from the shared dream, they are unable to find Firefly — Change "awakened" to "awakens" since plot info should be present tense.
- Done.
- appears in her SAM form to rescue them and revealed her true identity — Change "revealed" to "reveals"
- Done.
- This ideological divide leads to a decisive battle which ended in the Trailblazer's group being defeated — Change "ended" to "ends"
- Done.
- Firefly returns to reality by committing suicide within said dream. — "said dream" is clunky. Using just "the dream" or "that dream" would probably be fine.
- Done.
- uses SAM to carry it high into the sky and detonated it, only for the "bombs" to be fireworks instead — Change "detonated" to "detonates".
- Also, "carry it" uses a singular pronoun but refers to the plural "bombs" mentioned earlier in the sentence, so it should be "carry them"
- Both done.
- ...who reveals that she erased and altered parts of their memory at the Stellaron Hunters' request, fearing it would have drawn the Destruction's attention... — It is slightly ambiguous who is doing the "fearing" here: Constance or the Stellaron Hunters.
- Clarified.
- With regards to her character trailer, Guan observed that —> "With regard to"
- Done.
- Hao Zheng of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona analyzed Firefly and Acheron in a master's thesis. — Just a side note: per WP:SCHOLARSHIP, master's theses are generally considered unreliable unless they have a significant scholarly impact or are published by a reputable imprint. Just make sure that is the case or remove it before a source review is done.
- I have commented this out for the time being and may decide to delete the comment after some more thought.
- When the narrative returns to the secret base where they took the photo, she found herself moved to tears. — "She" could momentarily be confused with Firefly, though it refers to the reviewer, Yan Ku. Maybe clarify as "Ku found herself".
- Done.
- Marco Wutz of Sports Illustrated added that if Firefly is connected to Sam, that it was possible that her "death" may have been part of the "script" — Remove the second "that"
- Done.
Overall the article looks to be in good shape. -- ZooBlazer 00:53, 9 July 2026 (UTC).

edit- Going over the sourcing, I see the thesis "Analysis of Female Character Design in Honkai: Star Rail" cited. A quick search on Google Scholar shows it hasn't been cited, and I can't find any credentials for the author to indicate any expertise in their field. This creates a problem because it's carrying a whole paragraph of the character's reception, but per WP:THESIS it does not appear to be a reliable source.
- See above.
- Reference 5 (Mr. Sun) needs a tweak; it's in Taiwanese Chinese
- Not sure what change you want me to make here, can you explain? The "language" parameter is set to "zh-Hant-TW"
- Looks like that defaults to Chinese for some reason. I set it to "zh-TW" so it shows up properly.

- Reference 8 (Animated Short: The Embers of Glamoth) has a postscript error. A quote tag may be more appropriate here if you're citing the description?
- Done.
- Moving onto structure, generally single-paragraph sections/subsections are seen as best avoided per past consensus. Would probably be better to at least combined the Promotion and Reception sections together, as there's not enough promotion/collaboration material to justify its own subsection. Barring that, you could put it under appearances also (see Raichu).
- Merged the two sections.
- I do have some qualms about the detailing of her story content, as I feel it could be paired down and some of it veers a bit too close to in-universe. A big thing to consider with these articles are they need to be written for those as unaware of the source material as possible, even from a non-gamer angle. Like for example, what does "Firefly is a 5-star Fire type" mean, and is it is really significant enough to note in the context of the article? Those are things to consider, but I'll dig into that harder after the sourcing points are addressed.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 08:13, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- I'm considering rewriting the appearances section to this; hopefully it should be a little clearer to non-HSR players. It's still long though, let me know if it should be slimmed down further. I've also already reworded the gameplay section to be a little clearer. In solidarity, Gommeh (talk 🎮 sign) 13:46, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

Image review
- Given that the characters are non-free, why are the cosplay images believed to be free? Nikkimaria (talk) 19:23, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
- According to my understanding, that's up to the photographer to decide since they own the copyright to the actual photo. I believe that in the event that this is not free use, it may be a licensed use regardless per miHoYo's fan creations guidelines for Honkai: Star Rail. That said, I'm on the fence regarding this photo's useability for FAC, but I've never had problems using pictures like this at lower levels, including at GA. - The photographer owns the copyright to the photo itself, but if they've photographed something that is non-free, that copyright also matters. Nikkimaria (talk) 00:15, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
- From how I understand it from this on Commons (specifically the wikimedia lawyer discussion in the Spiderman image further down the page), as the focus is on the cosplayer in costume and not the costume itself or using it to represent the character, there is no copyright violation in using it this way.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 03:21, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
- Er... it's being used in an article on the character; why would it not be considered to be representing the character? Nikkimaria (talk) 03:24, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
- Because the context matters; Gommeh is not citing the image to show "this is what the character looks like" or "this is what a Firefly costume looks like", but "this is an example of cosplayers dressed up as the character", which per Mike's email, is acceptable.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 03:30, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
- I don't think that's consistent with the primary email in that section, but either way, if that's all the images are intended to do, why are they needed at all? Nikkimaria (talk) 04:18, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
