The station is owned by the Christian Television Network (CTN). WHBR's studios are located on Pensacola Boulevard (US 29) in Pensacola, and its transmitter is located in Robertsdale, Alabama.

The station was founded in January 1986.
WHBR ended regular programming on its analog signal, over UHF channel 33, on January 20, 2009. The station's digital signal remained on its pre-transition UHF channel 34, using virtual channel 33.[2]
