Commenting your edits

Hi, and thanks for your work here on Wikipedia.

It would be much appreciated if you could comment your edits, as this reduces the amount of time other editors have to spend checking edits that look like vandalism, lack of commenting being a frequent sign. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:20, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

Even with an edit summary the edits should be checked. There may be more vandalism from anons but there is a lot of bad editing from users. I did over 100,000 edits when I used my account so I know my way around WP. ~2026-81085-3 (talk) 17:58, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

All editors are volunteers. Your duty is to avoid causing others unnecessary work. It is a simple courtesy to all other editors, both immediately and those looking back over article histories, to provide a basic commentary on your edits. Thank you for your understanding.
