Hello WorldPeace888. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Primavera Capital Group‎, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:WorldPeace888. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=WorldPeace888|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Amigao (talk) 18:31, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Amigao I am not receiving any payment from any firms to edit Wiki.
The information edited is based on relevant sources. WorldPeace888 (talk) 15:35, 13 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Addtionally, if there is any issue with my logic, please state it on the 'talk' page of the topic. I am open to learning. However, I am NOT getting any payments.
I just did an edit which is referenced from 'Financial Times' to make the page more balanced. Making a page balanced does NOT mean I am getting paid!!! WorldPeace888 (talk) 15:37, 13 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi WorldPeace888, I'm working to redraft the Charlesbank Capital Partners article with neutral language and updated sources. I see that you are a member of WP:Private Equity, so I hope you'll be willing to take a look at the edit request I posted here: Talk:Charlesbank_Capital_Partners#Redraft_of_page. I appreciate your help, CharlesRiver98 (talk) 12:40, 17 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:WorldPeace888, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=WorldPeace888|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Imcdc Contact 10:47, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Imcdc,
I DO NOT have any financial stake in promoting the topic.
You reverted the changes, citing that "no agreement was gained." However, I had previously posted the details on the talk page for Primavera Capital Group on June 17th and tagged you on June 19th for visibility. Now that the details are live, the suggestion of a financial stake is unfounded. For transparency, I also disclosed on the talk page that I am a part-time contributor —meaning I derive no financial benefit from them.
For reference, please review the discussion on the Talk:Primavera Capital Group, including my post from June 17th (and the subsequent tag on June 19th). I’d appreciate it if we could resolve this matter constructively WorldPeace888 (talk) 23:10, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Right. And do you have any relations to Primavera or the companies you edited so far? This includes being an employee there, having a relative there, having a connection to the company such as PR relations or journalist coverage? For example, you claim the Primavera logo is your own work here. How is that possible as an independent party?- Imcdc Contact 23:43, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Imcdc,
Thank you for your follow-up. To clarify, I have no affiliation with Primavera Capital Group—this includes not being an employee, having relatives employed there, or any PR/journalistic ties to the company.
Regarding the logo upload: When I initially contributed it (early in my Wikipedia editing experience), the platform required selecting the "own work" option for submission, as I was unfamiliar with proper licensing procedures at the time. I’m happy to correct this—please advise how to properly replace or attribute the logo to resolve the issue OR delete the logo ,as I don't have the license + I am unrelated to the firm.
I take Wikipedia’s neutrality and conflict-of-interest policies seriously. Let me know how I can align these edits with community guidelines moving forward.WorldPeace888 (talk) 00:39, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Ownership for the file has been updated, please check:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Primavera_New_logo.png
Will be mindful in the future of selecting ownership for images/files that does not belong to me. Please excuse me for the inconvenience caused. WorldPeace888 (talk) 01:30, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
You have been a user for over two years now. You have already been told to become familiar with WP:PG. Stuff like WP:NOTNEWS and WP:ROUTINE should be known by now. Yet I see little improvement in behavior and edits. Its your responsibility to figure it out not for others to hand-hold you. There is WP:HD for answering questions.
I am still assuming WP:GF. There will not be a next time for warnings. Imcdc Contact 03:28, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Imcdc:
Thank you for the WP:GF reminder. I'm familiar with WP:NOTNEWS and WP:ROUTINE, and I aim to comply. To clarify:
Editing background:
- This is a hobby (not a profession) with <300 edits over 2 years.
- I edit intermittently and learn through practice.
About the reverted edits:
- Selected 5-6 deals meeting WP:N criteria (significant, widely covered).
- Not a routine update or indiscriminate list.
Concerns:
- While I acknowledge WP:HD, constructive feedback on specific policy violations would help me improve.
- Currently, deletions despite sourced, notable additions reduce my confidence in contributing.
I'll review WP:PG again. If there are particular guidelines I missed in this case, I'd appreciate pointers. WorldPeace888 (talk) 07:24, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

COI / PAID

edit

As above, see {{uw-COI}} and {{uw-paid}} and all that. And User:Polygnotus/rants.

I notice that you wrote: constructive feedback on specific policy violations would help me improve.

Well, for example in this edit you write: In August 2025, Volkswagen (VW) introduced a subscription for UK customers wanting to increase the power of some of its electric cars. Optional power upgrade will cost £16.50 per month or £165 annually, or customers can choose to pay £649 for a lifetime subscription. "VW introduces monthly subscription to increase car power". 15 August 2025.

In reality what happened is that they used software to reduce the power of the engine, and then demand money to unlock it. There is no "power upgrade". Polygnotus (talk) 20:42, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

This edit This unique partnership model is expected to demonstrate MAM’s ability to mobilize capital at scale to address critical climate challenges while delivering value to investors. is horrible. Polygnotus (talk) 20:46, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

On August 22, 2025, Air Liquide has agreed to buy South Korea’s DIG Airgas for an amount of 2.85 billion euros that comes to $3.31 billion which incudes debt and cash.

An edit like this one is WP:CLOP.

I also notice that you seem to edit the same articles as user hajer-12, L'Oreal, car brands, Prada and companies that are less well-known to the general public like Air Liquide and Stellantis. Polygnotus (talk) 21:14, 17 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Since you use ChatGPT for many of your edits I worry about hallucinations and copyright infringement.

And why do you say stuff like I added a new information to the web page after extensive research from renowned neswpapers and articles when all you do is copy paste the first paragraph(s) of a bunch of news articles, with some minor tweaks by ChatGPT, into Wikipedia? Do you think that is how encyclopedia writing works? Please read WP:COPYVIO.

Can you please stop? It looks like you don't even understand or read the articles whose authors you are violating the copyright of. For example, on the Google Gemini article, which is an AI chatbot, you added the following text: In August 2025, Gemini, the crypto exchange founded by the Winklevoss twins, filed for a U.S. IPO after reporting H1 2025 losses of $282.5M on $68.6M revenue, far wider than last year’s."Winklevoss twins' Gemini reveals lower revenue and wider loss in US IPO filing". August 16, 2025.

That is a completely unrelated company (a crypto exchange)...

And do me a favor, please respond without using AI. See WP:LLMTALK. Polygnotus (talk) 02:34, 18 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
