Introduction to contentious topics
editYou have recently edited a page related to the Balkans or Eastern Europe, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
Draft promotion
editWhy did you do this move without any explanation?
(Are you connected to User:SpeedyHaste by any chance?) --Joy (talk) 00:15, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- I recently tried visiting the page but i couldn't find it so i went to editing history of speedy haste and found it was moved to draft then i checked Haste's tp (since when article is moved to draft the user who moved will leave the message and explain the reason) and i found your comment saying how page is FORK of Jovan Nenad then i visited his page checking if that's true but apparently it isn't then i moved it from draft and to answer your question if I'm related to speedy, no I'm not at all this isn't my first time moving pages/drafts also I'm avoiding to be associated with anyone Wikicommonsfan134 (talk) 01:27, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- It's best to use edit summaries to avoid this sort of a thing. There was clearly some complex reasoning behind the edit, so it makes sense to document it. Please do that in the future. Cf. Help:Edit summary. --Joy (talk) 11:58, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- Update:I put back article to draft, while it isn't completely FORK it might still need more information. Wikicommonsfan134 (talk) 01:42, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Operation Orada (1991) when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.

Hello. I wanted to let you know that in your recent contributions to Ratko Mladić, you seemed to act as if you were the owner of the page. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. This means that editors do not own articles, including ones they create, and should respect the work of their fellow contributors. If you create or edit an article, remember that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Draft:Goroljub Paunović. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Do NOT reinstate this image. First of all the licensing is challenged on Commons. More importantly, it is a BLP violation. It's gruesome, and there is no evidence whatsoever that a. the image represents the subject and b. the draft properly respects the BLP in terms of sourcing. Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Vasojevići. Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Albanian-Epirote War (1381–84). When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Jingiby (talk) 09:28, 21 December 2025 (UTC)

Problematic edit at Operation Storm
editG'day. I saw you made this edit on Operation Storm. The idea that NATO was a combatant in Operation Storm is a very fringe point of view. NATO airstrikes under Operation Deliberate Force, triggered by the Sarajevo marketplace shelling by the VRS on 28 August 1995, began over a fortnight after the Operation Storm follow-up operations had concluded. I strongly suggest you ensure that edits you make to articles with contentious subjects are based on reliable sources and reflect a neutral point of view. editIt's incredibly POV to replace a picture of a monument with a picture of a huge Serbian flag on an article about a disputed place which Serbia claims as its own territory. {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 12:19, 20 January 2026 (UTC)Hello. I hope you’re doing well. Since you have experience dealing with Balkan historiography on Wiki, I wanted to bring the "Battle of Lumë" article to your attention. I've done a deep dive into the archives and comparative sources, and the current version of the article seems to rely heavily on fringe/nationalist historiography (mainly Braha and various non-academic portals) rather than reliable military history. The biggest red flag is the choice of references. Using random Albanian tabloid portals like https://www.google.com/search?q=Sot.com.al or Kosovarimedia as sources for a "major military victory" is a joke. These aren't peer-reviewed academic journals or military archives; they are nationalistic blogs that have zero credibility in serious historiography. If you look for any official Serbian military records or even neutral foreign observer reports from the time, this "great battle" where the Serbian army was supposedly "crushed" simply doesn't exist.
To put this in perspective, eight battalions constitute nearly 8,000 men; Serbian total combat deaths for the entire First Balkan War (including major battles like Kumanovo and Bitola) are estimated at around 5,000 to 7,000. It is patently absurd to suggest that a single, undocumented skirmish in the Luma mountains resulted in more casualties than the entire war against the Ottoman Empire, yet the Serbian Army still managed to successfully occupy the coast, establish the Drač County (Durrës), and maintain administrative control over Luma until the diplomatic withdrawal in 1913. An army that loses its core strength does not continue an offensive to the sea; it ceases to exist.
This article needs a serious overhaul. To maintain wikipedia standards of neutrality and reliability (WP:RS and WP:NPOV), this article must be fundamentally restructured and renamed to "Operations in Luma (1912)" or "Luma Expedition." We need to strip out these fabricated casualty figures and clear out the trashy portal citations. It was a brutal counter-insurgency campaign where the Serbian army secured a strategic corridor to the sea—not some epic military defeat that only exists in the imagination of certain albanian portals.
The current title implies a conventional battle that never took place in the form described. We must prioritize verified military history over fabricated regional epics. The serbian armys objective was the Adriatic, and they achieved it by passing through Luma; any resistance encountered was a tactical hindrance, not a strategic defeat. These are not peer-reviewed academic journals; they are digital pamphlets for ethnic romanticism. These "sources" claim a military victory while contemporary, neutral, and even anti-war sources like the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (1914) and the Serbian socialist Dimitrije Tucović describe a completely different reality. Tucović and the Carnegie Commission documented "punitive expeditions," "pacification," and the burning of villages. While these reports are critical of the Serbian Army’s conduct toward civilians, they inadvertently prove Serbian military dominance. You cannot carry out a systematic, months-long punitive "pacification" of a region if you have been defeated and expelled. The very existence of these atrocity reports is the most damning evidence that the Serbian Army held the ground, controlled the roads, and broke the resistance of the local tribes. FranéRogoz (talk) 14:45, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi and thank you for bringing the article to my attention. The sections talking about the battle are poorly and unreliable sourced. I couldn't find any reliable source mentioning the battle nor the casualties, it
- is simply impossible that the battle which according to available sources was that big doesn't appear to be mentioned anywhere else outside of nationalistic sources. I think it is the best to nominate it for deletion simply because it only relies on unreliable and poor sources and it isn't mentioned in any reliable ones. - I count 8 edits at Kosovo War page since mid-December, every single one of which was in relation to a clear dispute with Pincrete and Kogjaimeqem, the former of which gave a clear objection to your changes on the talk page. - Hi, Rosguill! I'm not sure I understand the reason for escalating this block following the previous 1-week block starting on January 20, just one day before your indefinite block. As such, the editor wouldn't have been able to show that they learned from the one-week block before being indeffed. Can you explain your rationale? - At Kosovo War on 21 Jan, 1 day after the p-block was imposed from KLA Summer offensive (1998), they introduced content that was equivalent to text that they had previously edit warred in favor of at this and other pages. Ultimately this last edit was never reverted by anyone else at the page (possibly partially because of the entirely innocuous edit made 30 minutes later), but it seemed to be a clear continuation of a POV-push pattern exhibited in their prior blocks. Note as well that Wikicommonsfan134 engaged in an egregious amount of edit warring at Kosovo War itself, but this was never reported or sanctioned; while that in itself is not cause for a sanction, taken together with the overall pattern of editing, it made me confident that edit warring would continue if a block was not imposed. signed, Rosguill talk 17:10, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
- That isn't true, this is the text that caused the edit warring this is my edit several weeks later the edit that was never done before and that did not cause any new edit warrings. Wikicommonsfan134 (talk) 06:52, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

I was recently blocked for my old edits on Kosovo war article where in december i had dispute with two editors but after proper explanation why my edit was reverted i pretty much stopped, i was also blocked for my warnings and behaviours on Operation Orada (1991), which is really false accusation since the article itself hasn't been edited by many editors and the last time i edited the article was on 7th december adding categories and last reason why i was blocked was edit wars on deleted article Yugoslav offensive in Drenica but i was already blocked for that. Please unblock me, these were some bit older disputes that were already solved in talk pages and one false accusation i also recently did much of good contributions including reverting vandal edits and i will stop the edit wars and resolve the disputes in talk page in the future i promise
