NEW ONE: Also according to this article it’s says that Iran will not be banned, or something else? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/jun/23/fifa-2026-world-cup-iran-usa-military-action-canada-mexico-gianni-infantino 2A02:587:6D18:B000:7967:4DDF:6337:865F (talk) 18:53, 23 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Interesting info - I'm curious how it will be handled as well, but I'm afraid I don't have any additional knowledge to share. We'll just have to wait and see how the situation unfolds. How does it feel to censor everything? 2600:6C52:4000:B31:5CA4:BD9:14EA:F648 (talk) 17:11, 3 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Your edit was factually incorrect. It said UEFA gets a playoff spot when they do not. Wburrow (talk) 17:16, 3 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Please, it’s important!

Hello sir, recently I made a post about that African map in the new talk page in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification and people still did not notice, so please do something. CAF Ranking of runners-up

edit

Have you seen this? I just saw it in internet but I couldn't validate it https://x.com/windowintlpod/status/1976346552588435512 It describes how the Ranking of runners-up would be. Seems to come from CAF in March this year Enrique1777~enwiki (talk) 20:46, 9 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for sharing this. I always thought that would be the case, but it's nice to have some confirmation. We'll see what the consensus is on how to incorporate it into the articles. Wburrow (talk) 22:12, 9 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Error in CAF group I

edit

I think that Madagascar finished with a Goal Difference of 17-12 (not 16-12) which impacts the ranking of 2nd placed teams 2601:640:8E81:3330:65FA:6810:2F8A:19CC (talk) 22:31, 12 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for pointing that out. I've corrected the tables. Wburrow (talk) 22:43, 12 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Regarding my edit on Anna Trocker

edit

Hi!

Just wanted to say thanks for thanking me on my edit on your article about Anna Trocker. It kind of felt like I changed the entire structure of it (although I do not think I did :P); hence I am grateful that you took it well. :) I also want to say that it is very nice to see someone doing some articles in alpine skiing; I feel like the only who are doing those on svwiki. I have been an avid follower of that sport since 2008 and want to increase the amount of articles; I know almost every World Cup skier´s results at World Cup and Europa Cup so I think I can add some stuff here and there where it could be needed.

One question: hoow do you mainly find personal info about the alpine skiers (like the section about Miggiano´s youth racing team)? I struggle to find such info.

Keep up the good work - your articles have been good so far in my opinion. :D

Hi @IceSphynx - thanks for the kind words. I've only been writing articles since the Olympics, so I'm glad to hear people appreciate them. On Anna Trocker, I liked how you consolidated the subsections because I felt there were already too many and I was hesitant to add another, but couldn't figure out where else to add the finals info. I hope to see more edits from you in the future.
For the personal info, sometimes you just get lucky when a smaller publication has done a profile on a local skier just getting their start and it comes up in a Google search or it's been added to another language's wiki. I've had good luck with dewiki and frwiki, but for some skiers I haven't found anything. Wburrow (talk) 23:26, 1 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi again!
Thank you for responding back. :) Yeah, I have not been writing articles for that long eiither; my first one was between Christmas and New Year's Eve 2025. :) Nice to hear that you appreciate people liking your articles; I personally like the different kinds of information you put into them. Especially that you add a little about Europa Cup and FIS results for the skiers, because I believe that people tend to forget about those and do not see the importance of such results for a skier´s World Cup career. :)
It feels great that you really thought that I actually improved your article about Anna Trocker; it can sometimes be a jungle to know where to put specific info. I generally write a subsection for each level (e.g. World Cup, Europa Cup and FIS Cup) and maybe write about the finals on a new row, in order to highlight those (if they stood out from other World Cup results, that is). I also try to write podium and victory results on new rows for the same reason. :) I do not know if that is a good strategy on either enwiki or svwiki yet, but that is how I do at the moment. :P Thanks for hoping to see more ediits form me; I am planning to work to a bigger extent on enwiki as well, since I can speak and write English at a good level (if I have to say it myself :P).
Okay, then I know regarding the personal info! It was mainly what I thought and I do also sometimes find valuable sources through the wikis you mentioned; it depends on how popular the skier in question is his/her country, I believe. :)
