Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Les Gladiatrices: Blondes vs. Brunes, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page French (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Betty vs. Veronica 234.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Betty vs. Veronica 234.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:33, 6 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Catfight, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Barfly, Terence Young and Destry (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). edit

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Notice

The file File:Kilma, Queen of the Amazons, VHS cover.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free VJS (VHS?) box cover art being used in a WP:DECORATIVE manner in Claudia Gravy which fails WP:NFCC#8. Non-free cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about works they represent, but its use in other articles or in other ways is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the WP:NFC#CS. There is no such commentary for this particular cover are anywhere in the article about Gravy, and thus there's no real justification for its non-free use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:18, 2 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Sports Review Wrestling July 1983

edit

This issue (and probably all published before March 1989) is public domain (Thanks to Mr. Weston for not copyrighting his magazines) Can you please scan the full issue and upload it in Commons? Do you have other issues or any of his boxing magazines?  REAL 💬   19:13, 26 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Several hard copies of SRW, to include July 1983, are in my possession. They are all copyrighted best I can tell. Internet archive has a number of complete issues on hand, to include July 1983. You can download that issue and then upload to Commons if you want, but my guess is that it will be removed.Vortex4id (talk) 17:29, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sorry I missed that archive.org has it. It does not seem to have a valid copyright notice on it (The Copyright Office states in 2204.4(C) that “All Rights Reserved” is not a valid notice). You can see this discussion on Commons where it was concluded all known issues before March 1989 are public domain REAL 💬 19:45, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Fascinating. The conversation you mention does show that G.C. London re-established copyrights over most of their magazines, but I don't see Sports Review Wrestling on the list. I also checked the US copyright office and they didn't show SRW either.Vortex4id (talk) 20:49, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Inside wrestling & 6 other titles. Detailed Record View | U.S. Copyright Office Public Records System Vortex4id (talk) 20:49, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
It was also found this is not actually a registration of copyright, but a transfer, I believe that Mr. Weston was deliberately releasing his magazines into the public domain, until the law changed and he could no longer do so REAL 💬 20:56, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
