Recent edit reversion

edit

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 12:13, 22 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:00, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Not a minor edit

edit

Information icon Hi TumCool412! I noticed that you recently made an edit at Santiago and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typos or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word.
Also, World Population Review is self-published, so it is not a reliable source and should not be cited on Wikipedia. See the WP:RSN archives for more information. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:30, 2 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Inappropriate reference naming

edit

Hello. I noticed that you've been adding <ref name="Chogath Kog'sante"> across multiple articles where that reference name isn't relevant. Please see WP:REFNAME for advice on choosing appropriate names for references, and please change the instances where you've used that name to ones that comply with editing guidelines. Thanks. - Eureka Lott 03:52, 9 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much o7 TumCool412 (talk) 07:50, 9 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Nguyen 2010 is the most common surname among Vietnamese people. right?
Chogath Kog'sante is my signature too
thanks you for discuss TumCool412 (talk) 08:05, 9 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
It seems that you didn't understand the issue because you did it again here after being warned. Citations have nothing to do with your personal signatures. Xexerss (talk) 09:59, 9 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Reverting edits

edit

Hello TumCool412! I just wanted to ask why you are reverting your own edits. An issue was not immediately clear to me, which is why I am asking. IndigoManedWolf (talk) 02:54, 15 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

only repair link is all I want. TumCool412 (talk) 03:38, 15 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay, that's alright. I do want to let you know that some of your other edits, such as adding sources, are appreciated, and they did not have to be removed. IndigoManedWolf (talk) 04:30, 15 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

February 2026

edit

Information icon Please don't change the format of dates, as you did to Ireland. As a general rule, if an article has evolved using predominantly one format, the dates should be left in the format they were originally written in, unless there are reasons for changing it based on either strong national ties to the topic or if the topic is tied to an armed forces. Please also note that Wikipedia does not use ordinal suffixes (e.g., st, nd, th), articles, or leading zeros on dates.

For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this page.

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. Denisarona (talk) 08:50, 20 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

access-date

edit

Hi. I see you are changing url-status to 'dead' (which is good) but also changing the 'access-date' to today's date. I think you misunderstand the purpose of 'access-date'. It should be the date the URL was accessed (i.e. accessed successfully). I'm not sure whether you have been thinking it is the date you tried to access it and failed, or whether you think it is the date you accessed the archive link. Please continue to mark dead URLs as 'dead', but don't change the 'access-date' to today's date in those cases. Cheers. Nurg (talk) 05:21, 5 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

I should add that what is even more useful is if you first search for an up-to-date URL for the source, as often the page is still on the Web but the URL has changed. As long as the content at the new URL still supports the Wikipedia text, you can change to the current URL, and then it will be correct to also change the 'access-date' to today's date. You should then also update or remove all the existing archive info, as it will be for the old URL. For an example, see Special:Diff/1341810175, where I have updated a link that you marked as dead. I just Googled the article title and found the new URL. Nurg (talk) 05:41, 5 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
