Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Legend of 14 (talk) 21:00, 1 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Ah okay! Will do in future. Some edits seemed to me to be quite small (e.g. adding a full stop that had been accidentally omitted) but I can add something to the effect of "added full stop" etc. ? Fwltur Gwydr (talk) 21:03, 1 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Churches

edit

Hi, and thanks very much for the new Welsh church articles. I've made a couple of changes to this one, St Doged's Church, Llanddoged, and wanted to explain why:

  • Naming conventions for church articles - while we don't have a policy, the closest essay is this, Wikipedia:Naming conventions (architecture). The generally-followed convention is that we don't write out Saint in full, but use the contraction, St. There's less agreement on whether there should be a full stop after this; some editors do, others, including me, don't. So, I've Moved the page from "Saint Doged's Church" to "St Doged's Church";
  • Talkpages - it's a good idea to include these, as you did for the Aberystwyth Methodist church, so I've added one to St Doged's;
  • Cadw or British Listed Buildings Online - As Cadw is the "official" listing authority for Wales, we have a template for citations. Generally this is preferred to BLBO, which is an unofficial mirror site, though a very good one. You can see how to set it up at the St Doged's article where I've flipped the BLBO cite.

Hope these comments are of some use. All the best. KJP1 (talk) 06:28, 7 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I am actually! Not super active but I do have an account I post on and reblog a LOT lmaooo
Guessing you're on there too??
Also i noticed the tone tags like /lh, /hj C3PHAL0BR0P0D (talk) 18:55, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I am! It's my social media of choice since I was in my mid-teens. Happy to give out the url of my sideblog (from which I can give the url of my main blog - rather not slap my main on my talk page if ygm).
And yeah I do use tone tags - but some people are super unfamiliar with them so I sometimes just bracket the whole word to avoid confusion Fwltur Gwydr (talk) 19:09, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
yeah my side blog stays hidden even from ppl who like my main lmao. i usually just treat my blogs as separate from one another for different interests. i really need to make a blog connected to my main for just reblogs... its getting so clogged (;.;)
tone tags are so nice tbh... I used to clown on em but the more im online the more i get why they exist, not just for autistic individuals (of which i later got a diagnosis that i was, go figure). like, i realized that ppl cant read emotions over text so i've started using them w a few friends
I actually only just recently gotten into Tumblr as a whole. Someone I knew put me onto it and I've preferred it ever since. I feel, at least from my side of Tumblr, that there's wayyyy less discourse over fandom issues than Twitter. Like, a show I've been into has been recently under fire for a character pairing being more emphasized and then the whole thing got leaked and it was all on Twitter. Seeing that fandom on Tumblr, everything is very civil when it comes to talking about characters, headcanons, fan theories, and over discussion over a topic. LIke, people actually wanna hear what you have to say instead of have you shamed in the town square over an opinion. Tumblr and I wanna say YouTube I feel have the most logical/healthy communities when it comes to discussions.
...sorry for the yap sesh- (._.')
noticed you don't have many interests (in the form of a ubx) on your page, just countries. May I ask why? Like is a personal preference or you dont know where to look for other ubxs C3PHAL0BR0P0D (talk) 19:32, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh yeah I'm autistic too hence why the tone tags are helpful!
Tumblr drama is its own beast but my god Twitter is even worse (I jumped ship ages ago).
I did have loads of interest userboxes but they've disappeared from my page????? Must have happened by accident during an edit. I'll have to look at my edit logs and resurrect them Fwltur Gwydr (talk) 19:39, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
ohhh i see haha
i feel the only drama i see on tumblr is just over politics tbh-
I just steer clear of like... drama in general cuz its just not worth my time to bicker with others C3PHAL0BR0P0D (talk) 19:46, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeahhhhh it's exhausting lmao. I also steer clear myself.

Just put my userboxes back! Somehow they just weren't showing up? Ah well, fixed it now Fwltur Gwydr (talk) 19:45, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
oh nice!! i gotta agree w the anti-trans thing goin on rn. i'm not european myself, im incredibly american, but i've been seein all this junk about bathroom rules and whatnot usually all created by people only acknowledging trans women without realizing the 5'9 trans man who looks like he could lift a truck with a beard is supposed to go to the womens room now... like that ALSO would make women uncomfortable if that is the stance lawmakers are taking. my partner is a t-girl/genderfluid themself and i get real nervous thinkin about them going out lookin fem, even though my state is fairly democratic nowadays... C3PHAL0BR0P0D (talk) 19:50, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh I will say - I know people mean well with the whole "transphobes won't like it if burly trans men are in the women's bathroom" but I would advise against that as a primary argument. Many trans men don't pass and obviously them being forced in the women's is no less stressful (happened to me pre-T once. Security guard wouldn't let me go in the men's). But even for those of us who pass as men well, being in the women's is still a risk if we are forced to, as cis women made uncomfortable may attack/get a cis boyfriend or such to attack because there's a man in the women's. The new UK guidance means that technically, if it was a "proportionate means to a legitimate aim" I could be forced out of the men's AND women's.
Tldr: The whole trans men being masc in the women's bathroom argument is kinda outdated atp. Sorry for the yap, it's just - the utility of that argument has come and gone, sadly /nm Fwltur Gwydr (talk) 19:57, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
ah i see-
i guess for me, in U.S. media, trans men aren't really a thing. i feel as if only tfems are put into the spotlight.
wait, then where would you even go??? if the UK doesn't have disabled/family restrooms that is... Thats so messed up that you'd be kicked from both.
oh btw I wasn't saying tmascs SHOULD go into the womens room. i was stating that they'd be better off in the mens for safety. i was merely mentioning that the media over here doesnt acknowledge trans men that could be forced into womens spaces nor do they acknowledge the harm that could follow such as being attacked like you mentioned. /nm /lh
i just feel as if the bathroom discourse should just boil down to "if you look like you could pass on a first glance and you wouldn't make others uncomfortable in the space youre going into and are going to be safe yourself, then thats the restroom you go into." not to sound exclusionist like "if you dont pass, you'd make others uncomfy" but sadly, people who are just starting out on their journey are not welcome by cis who can tell theyre trans... smh
i just cant figure out why the media focuses on this issue when it wasn't a problem before (what i mean is trans folk could go to the restrooms and maybe get some stares but it wasn't like it is today with all the fearmongering now making people call the cops rather than keep their mouths shut and mind their business). Like... We've got bigger issues we should be focusing on. Leave trans people alone and start broadcasting the real threats, because istg, a trans person is not gonna hurt you
those are my thoughts at least-
you don't mind the paragraphs, do you?
Just asking for clarification so I'm not intruding on you or anything C3PHAL0BR0P0D (talk) 20:08, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

I'm so sorry about the situation Stateside too - it's worrying watching from over here and not being able to help. I know a Floridian who wants to leave but can't. Thankfully they're in Mass. rn but still. Fwltur Gwydr (talk) 19:58, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
We feel the same way unable to help yall. I feel the UKs almost got it worse than we do... Idk how your parliament passes things but luckily we have some people willing to turn away new legislation... Idk if yall are as lucky to have that though
Mass as in Massachusetts? C3PHAL0BR0P0D (talk) 20:10, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I meant Massachusetts - finally free today after the last few days were very busy for me. I guess we're Wikipedia mutuals now if such a thing exists Fwltur Gwydr (talk) 12:54, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ohhhh yeah I was confused cuz most people in the states just say Massachusetts or the much funnier option: The Masshole.
Cool! Well uhh... Afternoon Wikimutual! C3PHAL0BR0P0D (talk) 16:50, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I see - I base all my knowledge of Massachusetts on my playthroughs of Fallout 4 - I figured there's a location called the Mass. Turnpike so thought you must use Mass. for short.
I have heard people called Massholes before though! Fwltur Gwydr (talk) 18:04, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ah I see. The Mass. Turnpike is a real thing! It's just shortened to "Mass" instead of Massachusetts on the Turnpike signs for size and legibility.
Fallout is decently accurate in all honesty. It very much nails the Cold War red scare vibes, especially with the music and scenery. Though I've never played the games myself (though I need to; I adore apocalypse/post-apocalypse stories), from the overviews, trailers, footage, and playthroughs I've personally seen, it is very accurate to the culture! You wouldn't be wrong in assuming anything about the U.S. from the games is real; most of it is. :) C3PHAL0BR0P0D (talk) 18:13, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Honestly in a weird sort of way it's made me want to visit Boston. I've been to Florida once when I was 11 (Obama was still president) but right now the US is not the most ideal place for a trans person to visit :( I also want to visit Oregon (because of Life is Strange: Before the Storm) and maybe also California, Nevada (Fallout: New Vegas). Maybe New Orleans. Fwltur Gwydr (talk) 19:58, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Err, you wouldn't be entirely wrong, but some places are safe, depending on which way they swing. The more north, the more safe, though, there are exceptions to that rule. Oregon, Cali, and Nevada are all democratic with a higher acceptance rate of trans individuals. New Orleans in general isn't safe, even for those living there. It has an incredibly high rate for crime and prosecution as well as re-offense rate with already registered criminals with a rough legal system that values punishment over rehabilitation. I don't recommend anyone to go to New Orleans without company and a deep understanding of where you'd want to stay, as more well funded areas are going to be generally safer than the outskirts.
Boston though, is REALLY fun. My father lived their once and I've been through and around the area. It is also democratic, so you'd be fine. They have a lot of cool museums if history is your jam, along with ball games and really good sea foods. :D C3PHAL0BR0P0D (talk) 16:32, 5 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
