Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (American game show), but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 14:03, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Age templates
editPlease don't change the birth date templates for missing persons. Articles do not contain conjecture or supposition, they should only include what is verified to be true. In missing persons cases, the age at disappearance is what is included in the infobox, not the age the person would be if they were still alive. -- Ponyobons mots 20:09, 17 February 2023 (UTC)

- I would like to learn more about why this article is being considered for deletion. This is the only article I've created where I have had this issue. I think the fact that Zoltowski disappeared while on vacation in what appears to be a hiking trip gone wrong seems notable (at least to some degree) plus there was a reported sighting of him in Hawaii in 2001 which is also an important fact. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. Speedy deletion nomination of Jack Rader (actor)
edit
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jack Rader (actor) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Unsourced renewals
editI've been noticed that on 2024–25 United States network television schedule. None of the recent edits of renewals of the ABC is sourced despite claiming it was sourced. I checked out TVLine and there is no information on the ABC shows that are said to be renewed today. BattleshipMan (talk) 17:49, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- I have noticed that as well. I was not the one who added that information, it was an unregistered user, so I attempted to undo it but was unsuccessful. TheJay123 (talk) 17:52, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- I know that. I warned that user and I requested page protection on it. You may have to remove what was put on there manually. BattleshipMan (talk) 17:57, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- The unregistered user keeps adding unsourced information with either very old sources or no sources at all. If this continues, the unregistered user's IP address may have to be blocked. It is difficult for me to undo information when the other user keeps adding useless content. TheJay123 (talk) 18:05, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- I already removed them, but then the user keeps readding them. BattleshipMan (talk) 18:22, 31 March 2025 (UTC)

Ken Jennings on Millionaire
editI don't think he split the money with Matt Damon because they were both playing for the same charity Water.org. So I would count it as a whole $1 million on American game show winnings records.And1987 (talk) 02:15, 31 July 2025 (UTC)

Notice of administrators' noticeboard incidents discussion
edit
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 02:03, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hello! May I know what the issue is relating to? I did not think that posting the big wins and losses of Wheel of Fortune was an issue (at the time that I did it), however, I know now that is not suitable for Wikipedia, so it will not happen again. TheJay123 (talk) 02:11, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- @TheJay123: The issues were:
- using Wikipedia as a repository of statistics; that is, to list every detail about everything. What puzzle was solved when a contestant set a winnings record is not encyclopedically relevant. The biggest "loss" on a show is not relevant either, as it is not usually a noteworthy fact about a competition. It would be like listing all the songs that peaked at #100 on the Hot 100.
- adding information that cannot be verified, or information for which you have not provided a source at all; sourcing is important, because it means that another editor or reader can check the source to determine that the article is accurate
- using sources that are not reliable by the standards of Wikipedia, such as unofficial YouTube reuploads of episodes, unofficial fan blogs, LinkedIn profiles, social media, etc. Information should be verified by third-party sources, such as newspapers, magazines, journals, reputable websites with credited editorial staff, and so on.
- synthesizing implied conclusions from sources, instead of facts; that is, drawing your own conclusions from sources instead of using the source to support a fact ("let's count it then as a $1 million win for Jennings")
- In short, please make sure you're adding content that is verifiable and relevant.
- I am surprised that you have been editing since 2020, yet still seem to have difficulty with understanding what kind of content should go into a Wikipedia article even after a talk page full of warnings. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 03:49, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- @TheJay123: The issues were:
Wheel of Fortune
editI believe I've told you before. Wikipedia is not a list of statistics, and YouTube videos are not reliable sources. Please do not reinstate information about the show's top winners. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 03:56, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I do have a question however: What makes Wheel of Fortune's statistics different than that of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? They have a list of top prize winners on their page and that was part of the reason why I decided to put stats on Wheel of Fortune's page. I was just curious. TheJay123 (talk) 11:11, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
- For one, Millionaire has always had its top prize right there in the title, so it makes more sense to indicate who's won it or anything higher. I don't think it should be as detailed as it is now, but that can be taken care of on its own merits. I'm not a fan of Millionaire so I've never bothered to touch that article.
- Wheel has never had a singular top prize as the ultimate goal. A sentence or two indicating the winnings record set yesterday, using something like this as a source, should be fine. Something like
The show's top prize of $1,000,000 has been awarded four times on the syndicated version, and once on the celebrity version. Among the winners was Christina Derevjanik, who on September 30, 2025 set the show's all-time winnings record of $1,035,155.
- Also, including what puzzle they won on is unnecessary information that has no encyclopedic bearing. The Millionaire article doesn't include what questions the contestants won on, as an example. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 17:07, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
- Just wanted to follow up. What you added now looks better and gives sufficient information without including too much or a bad source. Only other thing is please put footnotes after punctuation marks, not before. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 20:12, 2 October 2025 (UTC)

Defining what does and doesn't qualify as a "game show"
edit
Hello, I'm Belbury, and welcome to Wikipedia. I appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Game show, it appears that you added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Belbury (talk) 20:42, 11 November 2025 (UTC)

editI have never seen any other show use the "production timeline"s you're adding. They seem like indiscriminate info that's already sufficiently verified elsewhere in the article. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 14:46, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
