edit
Hi TheInspectorInCity! I noticed that you've made several edits in order to restore a version of Amar Preet Singh. The impulse to repeatedly undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure that you're aware of Wikipedia's edit warring policy. Repeatedly undoing the changes made by other users in a back-and-forth fashion like this is disallowed, even if you feel what you're doing is justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages in order to try to reach a consensus with the other editors involved. If you are unable to come to an agreement at Talk:Amar Preet Singh, please use one of the dispute resolution options that are available in order to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of repeatedly reverting other editors' changes can help you avoid getting drawn into edit wars. Thank you. EasyAsPai (talk) 18:24, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
editYou have recently edited a page related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

- Please be sure to note the above restrictions concerning the topic space of Indian military history. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 11:59, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- You are continuing to violate the above restrictions with these edits, compliance with the extended confirmed restriction applied to the topic of Indian military history is not optional. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 13:37, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

edit
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war, according to the reverts you've made to Amar Preet Singh. This means that you are repeatedly reverting content back to how you think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree. Once it is known that there is a disagreement, users are expected to collaborate with others, avoid editing disruptively, and try to reach a consensus – rather than repeatedly reverting the changes made by other users.
Important points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive behavior – regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not engage in edit warring – even if you believe that you are right.
You need to discuss the disagreement on the article's talk page and work towards a revision that represents consensus among everyone involved. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution if discussions reach an impasse. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to engage in edit warring, you may be blocked from editing. Diffs: . fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 13:38, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- The same applies to your editing at Anil Chauhan as well. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 13:39, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- I have edited Anil Chauhan and Amar Preet Singh wikipedia articles days before and no one have any problem with it. The only problem started when I edited PAF Base Shahbaz page. So I will not restore the later one, but I am restoring the earlier ones of both the articles as no one have any problem with it. One editor have problem with Amar Preet Singh article but as it was restored with a proper section the problem is resolved and accepted. So restoring both of them. TheInspectorInCity (talk) 15:40, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- There isn't an exception like that for WP:CT/IMH, the edits have been reverted again. If you restore those edits, or violate the extended confirmed restriction applied to Indian military history again, you will be reported and most likely blocked from editing. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 23:54, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is WP:AWARE editor continually violating extended confirmed restriction. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 23:09, 6 February 2026 (UTC)

- Where is edit ? If I am not extended confirmed can't I even discuss on topics in talk page ? TheInspectorInCity (talk) 04:09, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four i did see that but it wasn't technically "history" so I let it slide. I did check AE and they did specify history. EvergreenFir (talk) 05:16, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
Contentious Topics - Arbitration Enforcement
editYou were warned multiple times about the restrictions on the topic of South Asia. You were specifically informed about the extended confirmation restrictions and that you do not meet those requirements and thus cannot edit on these topics. So you decided to circumvent the WP:CT/SA restrictions by recruiting others to make edits on your behalf (, , , , ). We call this WP:GAMING and it is not allowed. You are provided enough evidence of your intent to violate these rules and it warrants a sanction.
You are hereby topic banned from any and all editing related to the Pakistan-India conflict(s) and Indian military events (past and present), broadly construed, for 1 month (expiring 16 March 2026 at 12:00:00).
Note that per WP:TOPICBAN,
The purpose of a topic ban is to forbid editors from making edits related to a certain topic area where their contributions have been disruptive, but to allow them to edit the rest of Wikipedia. Unless clearly and unambiguously specified otherwise, a topic ban covers all pages (not only articles) broadly related to the topic, as well as the parts of other pages that are related to the topic, as encapsulated in the phrase "broadly construed".
Please continue your constructive editing on cricket-related pages or any other area you would like other than the above-listed ones. EvergreenFir (talk) 23:19, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
