- Hi
- There are many instances of interviews with Carol in the national press. Should I add these as external links?
- ' Stevecaplin (talk) 11:15, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
- You can definitely add these to the draft — interviews can generally be used as references to support claims about the subject themselves, subject to a few limitations. But interviews won't help to establish that she meets the inclusion criteria for an article, because they are not considered independent sources. To establish that she meets those inclusion criteria, you'll need sources that have been written about her and her work by independent parties (e.g. a profile in a newspaper). MCE89 (talk) 11:22, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
- Interview citations added. Two Facebook links, one an interview with Radio 5 Live and one with the Department of Education. Stevecaplin (talk) 12:11, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
- Just to be clear: there are several citations, only two of which are from Facebook. Stevecaplin (talk) 14:08, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi just checking I've added these citations correctly! Stevecaplin (talk) 09:05, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi there – don't know if you're still seeing these messages, but is it possible to have a quick chat about the process here? I've built the page because of an upcoming Honours List announcement on 30 December, for which a Wikipedia page will greatly help with press enquiries. (Obviously this is in confidence.) Stevecaplin (talk) 10:41, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Steve, and apologies for the delayed reply. I should first just make clear that everything you write on this page is public, so please don't post anything that needs to be kept in confidence. It looks like you have some decent sources that probably at least get you close to establishing that Carol Homden meets our inclusion criteria, but too much of the draft is currently based on primary sources and sources affiliated with the subject. A Wikipedia page needs to be a summary of what has been said about Carol Homden in reliable, secondary sources like books and newspaper articles. I would strongly suggest cutting most of the draft and sticking strictly to summarising what is said about her in these sources: . Primary and non-independent sources (e.g. interviews and profiles from one's employer) should be as little as possible. Anything that can't be verified in a reliable source needs to be removed entirely.
- Once you feel that the draft is ready, you can resubmit it for review by hitting the blue “Resubmit” button in the bottom left of the red box at the top. My strong advice would be to submit a much shorter draft that sticks purely to the facts and uses a small number of high-quality, secondary sources. MCE89 (talk) 11:03, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, that's very helpful. Stevecaplin (talk) 17:36, 20 December 2025 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Carol Homden (December 23)
edit
- Promotional tone, editorializing and other words to watch
- Vague, generic, and speculative statements extrapolated from similar subjects
- Essay-like writing
- Hallucinations (plausible-sounding, but false information) and non-existent references
- Close paraphrasing

- Hi Chris – this was absolutely not generated by ChatGPT or any other LLM!
- I will check all the references. Stevecaplin (talk) 17:52, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- Broken links fixed. Many thanks for your help. Stevecaplin (talk) 18:00, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, and yes they work for me too. It's not essential for this process, but do consider filling citations with all the parameters, since it quickly shows how important / useful the citation is. That isn't part of the Article for Creation process, but something perhaps to bear in mind for next time to show that effort was put into sourcing. It's more an art than a science. One thing that could also help here is to show neutrality by mentioning adverse comments or criticism of the subject. I can't believe you can be chair of Wolves and not get a bit of that. You have submitted the review again, another reviewer, another set of eyes will look on it now. ChrysGalley (talk) 18:23, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- It was Carol's father who was chair of Wolves! And I've been unable to find any adverse comments. Thanks again for your help. Was I wrong to resubmit? I thought that was the correct process. Stevecaplin (talk) 18:34, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- I managed to misread that then. There was criticism of the Coram trustees here:
- and she replied:
- Definitely right to resubmit, not least because there is a backlog drive on so you will get feedback fairly quickly. ChrysGalley (talk) 18:38, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- Gosh! You really do put in the effort! Stevecaplin (talk) 19:03, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
