Thank you for fixing more of the vandalism on the House of Lords page, I only caught the search preview at first somehow, you beat me to the rest of it o7 Kuinor (talk) 11:30, 17 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

No worries! It's always nice to know that there are people out there keeping an eye on such things. Sigma440 (talk) 11:35, 17 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

History of Denmark edit

edit

Hi, it's common knowledge that Kievan Rus was founded by Vikings, the Rurik dynasty ruled the many cities and later principalities there. If a reader were to click on the Kiev Rus link in the history of Denmark article, they would immediately see this too. I added the extra information, because then it makes the preceding information on the large trade networks more understandable. 2001:1C02:1990:A900:A133:12C8:56B:A2BA (talk) 08:50, 23 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'll leave it alone for now since I haven't studied Eastern European history for some years. Having said that, since your edit was challenged, anyone would be able to revert it again and you'd be asked to provide some sort of source even if you think of it as common knowledge. (See WP:BURDEN)
Also, telling people to click a wikilink absolutely isn't enough either. Be sure to keep that in mind in case someone else asks you for a source in the future. (See WP:CIRCULAR and WP:CK) Sigma440 (talk) 10:31, 23 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your message. Unfortunately I was off Wikipedia, so it took me a while to see it, but once I did see it I did what you quite rightly suggested. JBW (talk) 15:13, 23 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks very much for the assistance. Much appreciated! Sigma440 (talk) 15:42, 23 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for reporting the person with the inappropriate username <3

Thank you! I never made a username report before but it was definitely something that needed to be dealt with. I guess there's a first time for everything! -Sigma440 (talk) 07:07, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

"bogeda"

edit

"bogeda" not bodega. I gave a reference, see for yourself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94hdP5lNkg4 24.157.135.56 (talk) 22:38, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, a Youtube video is not considered an appropriate source here. See WP:RSPYT. If you're serious and want to find an actually reliable source for a citation, you can look at the other sources listed on the page WP:RSP. You can also read WP:RS and WP:VERIFY for a more general overview.
-Sigma440 (talk) 00:38, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
You can hear her say it and watch her mouth form the words. How on earth is that not valid?! 24.157.135.56 (talk) 09:41, 2 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I literally gave you links to various Wikipedia policies explaining why it's not valid. Feel free to read them at your convenience and you'll find your answer. Sigma440 (talk) 10:00, 2 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
In addition, what would be the actual point of that edit to the bodega article? It's off-topic and irrelevant. How would it contribute to making the article better and enhancing the reader's knowledge about bodegas? At best you could try adding it to the Jill Biden article but I doubt you'd have much luck there either. -Sigma440 (talk) 00:51, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sorry. I see I edit conflicted with you on the revert before I warned the IP. Twinkle does not tell you when this happens. After looking at the edit filter log I reported them for a block. Meters (talk) 09:05, 6 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

No worries! Glad to see that other people are on the lookout for those sorts of things. Sigma440 (talk) 09:07, 6 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
And blocked two weeks. No need to wait for wait for further edits after the level 4 with those egregious edits. Meters (talk) 09:20, 6 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yep, sometimes you can tell that you really don't need to bother going through all of the formal steps. This definitely seems like one of those times. That filter log sure is... something. Sigma440 (talk) 09:33, 6 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thank you kindly! I've had this name since long before "sigma" turned into a slang thing. I sure do wish the internet had chosen a different letter for that haha... Sigma440 (talk) 05:51, 27 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Catholicism and Zionism

edit

Thank you for your note: are you an arbitrator in these disputes? I have no idea how this works. This article is part of a pattern of lack of neutrality in this subject and uses ahistorical, emotive and in parts comes dangerously close in some language to promoting terrorism- the use of the word fedayeen in the context of terrorism is particularly problematic. Wikipedia has run into problems in the last two years by mass edits and resits by pro Palestine and pro Hamas editing and as such is becoming widely discredited as a result. This article , its editor and its bias seem a strong part of this ~2026-89402-0 (talk) 18:59, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Twinkle, Redwarn and Ultraviolet

edit

I do recommend you get at least one of these, though in my opinion having Twinkle and Redwarn or Twinkle and Ultraviolet is best. None of these require rollback (in fact, Twinkle isn't programmed to incorporate the rollback right at all ). Ultraviolet (and presumably Redwarn) allow you to switch their reverting mechanism to use rollback, but it isn't required to use the vast majority of features. Either way, thanks for contributing to the project :) 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) (contributions) 05:00, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I'll be sure to give them a look. I tried Twinkle a while back and for whatever reason, it didn't really "click" with me. However, I imagine that I'd get the hang of it with a bit of practice/usage now that I have a better handle on how things work around here after a few thousand edits.
Thanks again for your thoughts and suggestions! It's always reassuring to know that there are lots of people out there contributing their time to this whole project. Sigma440 (talk) 05:18, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Rollback granted

edit

Hi Sigma440. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits. For more information about when rollback is appropriate, see Wikipedia:Rollback § When to use rollback.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the permission will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, and feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate use of rollback. If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin) and Wikipedia:Rollback. Good luck and thanks! * Pppery * it has begun... 01:46, 13 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
