- Thank you for taking the time to review. I am at a crossroads and would like your advice. This theory is gaining interest while under peer review. Is Wikipedia not a place for people to learn about Mass Damping Theory pre-publish? If I wait for review completion this draft will most likely be deleted. That combined with my time constraints, should I let it be deleted and try again later? 172.56.50.140 (talk) 00:16, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hello! I want to commend you for a very well written draft article. Wikipedia is quite strict about some of its policies relating to sourcing and notability, so much so that otherwise well written articles are sometimes left out. As you stated, the article in its current form is probably not suitable for inclusion until the sources are published. You have a few options on how to proceed:
- If you think there will be substantive content remaining after removing the Rigbsy (2025) sources and the information that they verify, you could shrink the article and resubmit. As there are other sources, this may have a good chance of success. There is no shame in submitting and publishing an article that is only a few sentences long. If the Rigsby sources end up peer reviewed and published, you are welcome to restore the missing information.
- You could also leave the draft and wait until the sources are peer reviewed, if you believe that is likely. Luckily, you have a few ways to keep the draft page alive until the sources are fully published. Drafts are only deleted if they are not edited for 6 months, so you can keep it by simply making small edits within that window to reset the timer. Additionally, if the draft is deleted, you can have it restored at WP:REFUND when you are ready to finish it.
- I should warn you that while citing one's own work is allowed, it likely constitutes a conflict of interest. See WP:COI for information about disclosures if that applies to you.
- I'm happy that works on the subject are undergoing peer review and that this article should eventually come together in its current form. Once you've resubmitted the draft (in whichever option you take), feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you'd like me to take another look. I'm quite sympathetic, as this is one of the better draft articles I've had to reject over sourcing. Garsh (talk) 03:04, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your time. Great advice. Have a great day. 172.56.15.201 (talk) 16:38, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Once again I appreciate your advice. It was a brutal process reducing the page I worked so hard on; however, I believe I now have what you were guiding me towards. This will be a good placeholder until the peer review process is complete. It will serve those who are interested. Have a great day. Rigsbyjr (talk) 01:38, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
