Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Oaigigrn. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Tan Pin Pin, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation for any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

See the FAQ for article subjects for more information.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Aleain (talk) 10:37, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Apologies and thanks for flagging this policy, which I was previously unaware of.
I will declare my COI and propose the changes (with explanations) on the talk page instead. Thanks! Oaigigrn (talk) 11:36, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi Aleain, I was previously working in a paid capacity for the page's subject to update details about the person's work on the Wikipedia page. However, now knowing and respecting the COI policy, I will not be making any further edits to the page. As the page no longer contains (or will contain) any of these edits which may be biased by COI, may I request that the COI notice be taken down, as I do not wish to create the impression that the other accurate information is also biased? Thank you and I apologise the inconvenience caused. Oaigigrn (talk) 13:26, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Aleain, I realise I didn’t mention you previously, so just bumping this up. Thanks! Oaigigrn (talk) 15:08, 18 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
