ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:50, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

welcome to wikipedia! about the metacritic template...

edit

hi!! welcome to wikipedia, i hope you're enjoying your time here so far! i just wanted to let you know that i reverted your edit adding the metacritic template to the film article high and low (1963). not every article needs to have these templates, and indeed most are better without them. discussions among participants at the film wikiproject and tv wikiproject (while having no formal consensus) have generally urged against using templates that use jargonistic phrases such as "ceritified fresh" or "universal acclaim" as they are specific to that website and provide undue weight to the categorisation systems of such a website that implies that they are the arbiter of taste or excellence. see also what the manual of style has to say about such phrases, for further information on editing film articles take a look at the MOS:FILM page or feel free to ask me or anyone else any questions you might have!

i bring this up especially because the page for high and low is currently undergoing a process known as featured article candidacy, so edits to the page are a little sensitive at the moment. as you move forward please be aware of pages that have this bronze star or green plus sign on the top right of the article page (on desktop) and on the talk page (on mobile and desktop), if you're ever unsure, feel free to ask on the article or an editor talk page! wishing you well and happy editing!!--Plifal (talk) 02:51, 13 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi Plifal; thank you for that information! I'll definitely avoid those templates from now on. Happy editing to you as well! Null morpheme (talk) 18:32, 13 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
you're welcome!! again please feel free to ask a question on my talk page or ping me using the wikitext {{u|Plifal}} at the beginning of your messages to notify me (e.g. in your replies here which i won't see unless i look for them). best of luck!--Plifal (talk) 00:29, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Better source request for File:Man Finds Tape film poster.jpg

edit

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. — Ирука13 10:29, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

My apologies for that! I'm new to this, and still getting the hang of it. I fixed the image source for the "Man Finds Tape" poster, and I'll go through and fix the sources for the other files I've uploaded as soon as I can. Null morpheme (talk) 14:20, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

I have sent you a note about a page you started

edit

Hi Null morpheme. Thank you for your work on Frewaka. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thanks for creating this article for an small Irish film. It has been covered sufficiently in independent sources to warrant inclusion (noting its film festival appearances), but as other editors note, a few more would be helpful.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

@Klbrain: Hi Klbrain; Thank you for your comment! I've added some more information and citations to the article. Null morpheme (talk) 03:06, 16 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
