Stop icon You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war, according to the reverts you've made to Gurkha. This means that you are repeatedly reverting content back to how you think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree. Once it is known that there is a disagreement, users are expected to collaborate with others, avoid editing disruptively, and try to reach a consensus – rather than repeatedly reverting the changes made by other users.

Important points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive behavior – regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not engage in edit warring – even if you believe that you are right.

You need to discuss the disagreement on the article's talk page and work towards a revision that represents consensus among everyone involved. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution if discussions reach an impasse. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to engage in edit warring, you may be blocked from editing. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 13:54, 17 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make personal attacks on other people, as you did at Talk:Gurkha. Comment on content, not on fellow editors. - Arjayay (talk) 20:27, 17 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Stay on the topic about the Gurkhas. I haven't seen a single comment from you addressing the actual topic or trying to close this discussion. You only keep bringing up unrelated things. It's not a big deal that I used AI to help clarify my comments, especially since someone here might not fully understand my harsh English. Northpixel (talk) 11:03, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
No one needs to stay on the "topic" if you need a large language model to bring it up
The use of large language models is strictly prohibited on the English Wikipedia, except in basic copyediting and translation from other Wikipedias Whyiseverythingalreadyused (t · c · he/him) 11:10, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Dude really said "no need to stay on the topic." Than wtf is this discussion even about? Northpixel (talk) 11:13, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's about your conduct—or rather, misconduct. Case in point: since you were previously warned about personal attacks, can you provide a salient reason why the edit summary of this edit isn't grounds to block your account? —C.Fred (talk) 09:53, 19 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) caste-related topics in South Asia.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. Gotitbro (talk) 08:09, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Particularly note Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) caste-related topics in South Asia.
So you shouldn't be editint anything related to these topics including Indian Gorkha and the like. Gotitbro (talk) 08:15, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Further, you've been issued no less than three final-level warnings for editorial conduct including POV violations and serious breaches of Wikipedia:No personal attacks. If this continues you will be looking at sanctions including in the form of blocks. Gotitbro (talk) 08:17, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I had posted the same notice on 22 April 2026, Gotitbro! If the user continues to violate our policies by deleting the notice from their talk page, admins may soon consider ban, block, etc. Please let me know if required. Thanks. Ekdalian (talk) 12:42, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
lol Northpixel (talk) 13:01, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
You mock concerns raised and then perform blind reverts despite being aware of sanctions. This is indeed going to be taken to the apt forum. Gotitbro (talk) 06:14, 11 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
And this revert/edit is a clear cut violation of WP:CT/CASTE, which you have now been informed of twice is an WP:ECR vio. Gotitbro (talk) 06:41, 11 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I noticed the deletion but it was specifically re-posted to re-emphasize that sanctions are active, seeing a continuing violation of those restrictions despite the editor being clearly aware. The reply above ("lol") envinces a reckless disregard.
I also have reason to believe there might be previous sockpuppetry involved. I'll be taking this to either WP:SPI or WP:ANI. Gotitbro (talk) 13:17, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is Personal attacks by a disruptive editor in a contentious space. Gotitbro (talk) 07:39, 11 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

To enforce an arbitration decision, and for edit warring, personal attacks, and ECR violations, you have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for a period of 2 weeks. You are welcome to edit once the block expires; however, please note that the repetition of similar behavior may result in a longer block or other sanctions.

If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing blocks (specifically this section) before appealing. Place the following on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Please copy my appeal to the [[WP:AE|arbitration enforcement noticeboard]] or [[WP:AN|administrators' noticeboard]]. Your reason here OR place the reason below this template. ~~~~}}. I suggest you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template on your talk page so it can be copied over easily. You may also appeal directly to me (by email), before or instead of appealing on your talk page.

Reminder to administrators: In May 2014, ArbCom adopted the following procedure instructing administrators regarding Arbitration Enforcement blocks: "No administrator may modify a sanction placed by another administrator without: (1) the explicit prior affirmative consent of the enforcing administrator; or (2) prior affirmative agreement for the modification at (a) AE or (b) AN or (c) ARCA (see "Important notes"). Administrators modifying sanctions out of process may at the discretion of the committee be desysopped."
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
