Hello, Thank you for your message. I am new to this platform and don't understand it at all. I was asked to create this article by my manager. This is apart of my job. Is that a conflict of interest? Also, I did disclose my COI. Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Nichol40 (talk) 19:06, 29 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Nichol40

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Nichol40 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I think maybe there's been a mistake. Were you starting a new article on your user page? On the assumption that perhaps you were, I have removed the speedy deletion tag that Geoff added to User:Nichol40.
I have moved User:Nichol40 to Draft:David J. Reibstein where you have up to 6 months to prepare it for approval as a new article.
We appreciate your volunteering to edit here!--A. B. (talkcontribsglobal count) 03:16, 23 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hi A. B. I am really lost. I'm trying to publish this page for my manager who is a expert in his field. My submission was rejected because it doesn't have credible sources among other things. Does something like the following qualify?: https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2025/01/07/republicans-liked-crypto-before-trump-did/77398253007/
Also, what else does the page need. The rules are very hard to understand. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Nichol40 (talk) 18:52, 29 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
There are links to the most salient guidelines in the first paragraph of the notice your draft just got. Read them closely.
That USA Today article is interesting but it’s not about Reibstein. It quotes him instead. Find articles that are about him instead in independent, reliable media.
Maybe Reibstein just doesn’t meet Wikipedia’s requirements. If so, no amount of effort on your part will work. —A. B. (talkcontribsglobal count) 19:28, 29 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
There is are limited exceptions for press coverage of some academics if they've been widely published. See Wikipedia:Notability (academics). Google Scholar shows he has >12,000 citations, which may be enough. In particular, see Wikipedia:Notability (academics)#Specific criteria notes. A. B. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue).
