Stop icon Your recent editing history at Hurricane Melissa shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing a page's content back to how you believe it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree with your changes. Please stop editing the page and use the talk page to work toward creating a version of the page that represents consensus among the editors involved. Wikipedia provides a page explaining how this is accomplished. If discussions reach an impasse, you can request help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution such as a third opinion. In some cases, you may wish to request page protection while a discussion to resolve the dispute is ongoing.

If you continue edit warring, you may be blocked from editing Wikipediaespecially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's workwhether in whole or in part, or whether it involves the same or different material each timecounts as a revert. Also, please keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warringeven if you do not violate the three-revert rule if things indicate that you intend to continue reverting content on the page. Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:39, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Stop icon You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war, according to the reverts you've made to Hurricane Maria. This means that you are repeatedly reverting content back to how you think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree. Once it is known that there is a disagreement, users are expected to collaborate with others, avoid editing disruptively, and try to reach a consensus – rather than repeatedly reverting the changes made by other users.

Important points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive behavior – regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not engage in edit warring – even if you believe that you are right.

You need to discuss the disagreement on the article's talk page and work towards a revision that represents consensus among everyone involved. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution if discussions reach an impasse. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to engage in edit warring, you may be blocked from editing. FourNoddlers (talk) 18:07, 6 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Archiving your talk page

Mario, ignoring this message, and countless others, is not appreciated, and this pattern has continued despite your having had years since the last time I called you out on this. This is not acceptable. Jasper Deng (talk) 05:43, 15 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Honestly I’ve been pretty lazy not having archived this sooner lmao. I would always have the thought then ended up forgetting about it. I’ll set up archiving either tonight or tomorrow because 300 sections on my talk page does not bode well at all.
edit: saw that recent message as I typed this out and yeah I’ve had a bad habit of doing that which isn’t healthy. MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 05:45, 15 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
With that idea in mind I manually archived up to last month. Tedious yes, and I am gonna have to get a bot to do that going forward most likely, so I will definitely reach out to you guys soon regarding auto-archiving by bots since I haven't really done that yet. --MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 05:57, 15 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Your changes to WWII

edit

Hello there

Please don't try to force through your changes over the objections of other editors. Two editors have objected to your changes to the info box so it is now up to you to seek consensus on the article talk page. Please see: WP:ONUS. If you are going to try to make changes to the info box it would also be a good idea to achieve competence in source coding. You can practice in your sandbox until things turn out the way you want them to.

Thank you Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 07:49, 21 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

hello there
Two editors agree that we shouldn't bold the words allies and axis in the info box, so you are in a minority of one on this. Instead on insisting, you should seek to build a consensus for your preferred option on talk.
Thanks Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 06:11, 30 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Suffix

edit

Regarding this edit, the documentation specifically indicates that the suffix parameters are to support footnotes; why do you believe the parameter should not contain footnotes? Nikkimaria (talk) 00:23, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

I meant it is standard practice to list the record without footnotes. The template specifically says “other content” as well which the current practice falls under. MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 00:41, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Mario, I suggest you stop reverting Nikkimaria's edits. They have been an editor since 2005 and has over 200,000 edits, plus they are a regular reviewer on FAC and is the FAR coordinator, so they know how the rules work on Wikipedia. I don't want an edit war over this. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:52, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I’m more specifically reverting the small font which was the main issue at hand initially. I’m not trying to start an edit war but just removing what was violating MOS:SMALLFONT. MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 00:55, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I mean, I'm not fussed about footnoting or not as long as the SMALLFONT issue remains solved, but I don't agree with your assertion that footnoting is incorrect. Nikkimaria (talk) 01:00, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps I phrased it wrong. I meant to say that generally for reader’s convenience, if a record low or record high stat is achieved in a tropical cyclone we have used the suffix parameter to note that below. There’s nothing wrong with the footnote, but for reader’s purposes when they first view the page we have kept that as it has been so it’s easy for them to see. Yes the small font was an issue and I went and fixed most of them. I hope that makes more sense so we don’t blow a fuss over this :) MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 01:04, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of 2025 Diaz tornado

edit

A tag has been placed on 2025 Diaz tornado requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. @Zackmann08: It’s ok. Also I would highly suggest undoing the most recent edit on Template:Infobox weather event with regards to the Met history part, as the “as [name]” part (which I assume you intended for use in articles on two related TCs), ends up messing up individual tornado infoboxes in outbreak articles as the name parameter used to state the locations the tornado went through, ends up writing out the entire thing as a result. Template:Infobox weather event small

edit

Something in your edit to this template today has caused ParserFunction errors in a number of articles that use Template:Infobox Hurricane Small (which redirects to it)—specifically, when the number in the |Pressure= parameter is preceded by a "less than" symbol. See 1921 Atlantic hurricane season for a couple of examples. I know nothing about template coding; could you investigate what the problem may be? Deor (talk) 19:36, 2 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Ah I see the issue. It’s something with the conversion to inHg. I’ll try to fix it. MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 19:38, 2 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
It’s an easy fix, just add the |Pressurepre = < parameter above the pressure parameter (while removing the < from that as it now considers it invalid). MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 19:41, 2 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
That seems to work, but now there's another problem. The infoboxes aren't displaying the field name Pressure before the numbers; instead, they're displaying {{{Pressure}}} and no numbers at all. Look at the infoboxes for the individual hurricanes in 1893 Atlantic hurricane season, for example. Deor (talk) 23:57, 2 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ugh. I’ll take a closer look at it when I get home as I’m currently not near a computer to easily fix it. I sandboxed this a lot earlier making sure everything was good before merging, but I guess some errors slipped through the cracks. MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 00:02, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
If it's of any help, many of the affected pages can be seen in the list at Category:ParserFunction errors in the "0–9" section. Deor (talk) 00:07, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Any progress on this? Deor (talk) 13:59, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Deor: Fixed, at least I hope it is. A quick look seems to me its working properly now. MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 16:18, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Well, the relevant pages have been cleared from Category:ParserFunction errors, so I guess the ParserFunction problem has beeen addressed; but the field name Pressure no longer exists. Look at the infoboxes in 1901 Atlantic hurricane season, for instance; the pressure information appears as part of the Peak intensity field, separated from the wind speed by a semicolon. Was that your intention? Deor (talk) 17:41, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
God damnit. No, because I’m trying to have them not show up if they’re not being used, mainly for the use with winter storms. MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 18:17, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Actually I just tested the show preview thing on an older revision of the template and the pressures always been separated by a semi-colon, so it’s actually correct for once I think. With storms with an unknown pressure it’s always been excluded since nothings typed into the parameter. MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 18:23, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Then I suppose all is well. Thanks for your efforts. Deor (talk) 18:52, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
