Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

It appears you may have used a large language model (LLM), such as ChatGPT, in your edits. While LLMs are powerful, machine-generated text often contains serious flaws. They may introduce bias, errors, plagiarism, libel, or even hoaxes. Specifically asking an LLM to "write a Wikipedia article" can sometimes cause the output to be outright fabrication, complete with fictitious references. For this reason, the use of AI writing tools for the creation or rewriting of articles, alongside their usage to generate images, sources or comments, save for a few exceptions, is generally prohibited. LLM-generated articles may be quickly deleted. If you are unsure about your wording, an alternative is to suggest it on the talk page for another volunteer to look at it. If you are creating a new article, you may use the Articles for Creation process to get feedback on your work.

Thanks, Deacon. I did use an AI assistant to help me navigate the Wikipedia process and draft the Talk page posts. I'm the subject of the article (Matt Johnson, the actor) and had no experience with how Wikipedia works, so I used AI to help me understand the COI guidelines and format my information correctly. The credits, the career information, the sources are all genuinely mine. AI helped me figure out where and how to post...it's not super intuitive. Are there any edits or posts you think need to revised? I am trying to do this correctly, honestly, and follow the guidelines. Thank you again for your help! I've left a second welcome regarding COI stuff specifically below this; both this one and the one below have links to help pages, and the one below has links about how to manage a COI specifically. Deacon Vorbis (carbon  videos) 22:58, 6 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Majoduckswiki, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, which will be reviewed by other editors. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Information icon Hello, I'm MrOllie. A comment that you recently posted seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Editors should not use LLMs to write comments generatively. Communication is at the root of Wikipedia's decision-making process, and it is presumed that editors possess the ability to come up with their own ideas. Your comment may have been collapsed per the relevant guideline. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. MrOllie (talk) 15:49, 7 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
