Introduction to contentious topics
editYou have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days, and you are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
To edit in the Arab-Israeli topic area on Wikipedia accounts must be at least thirty days old and have at least 500 edits. This includes editing talk pages, with the sole exception being for simple and specific edit requests, which should be in the form of "change x to y for reason z", complying with EDITXY. - This edit of mine was a mistake by the way and your comment has been restored as it was not about the Arab-Israeli conflict. IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 21:13, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
You have recently made edits related to post-1978 Iranian politics. This is a standard message to inform you that post-1978 Iranian politics is a designated contentious topic. Minor edits
editYou recently made an edit to Abdul Wahid al-Nur (), which you tagged as I minor edit. Whilst I do not disagree with the edit itself, it should not have been tagged as minor as per Help:Minor edit the minor edit box is mainly for "typographical errors, minor formatting errors, and reversion of obvious vandalism". Removal of unsourced content, whilst fine to do, would not be a minor edit. DervotNum4 (talk) 15:58, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
The Boys season 5
edit@KeysofDreams: can you explain why, by your own mistaken decision, you chose to use the past tense for the phrase "weekly episodes" when not all of them have premiered yet? Marco camino 10 (talk) 16:16, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- Because I keep forgetting common sense does not exist on Wikipedia. KeysofDreams (talk) 18:31, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- Don't try to justify your incompetent editing with "common sense." If you would have wanted to add something correct, it would have been something like "the episodes are being released weekly," and you wouldn't have used the past tense, which, as I assume you know, implies that all the episodes had already been released by the date of your edit, which they haven't. So don't make lame excuses for your poor and unjustifiably erroneous edits. Marco camino 10 (talk) 09:54, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- Quit acting like I shot your dog. The episode will be released in less than 24 hours, and it'll be that way anyway. Go drink some water or something. KeysofDreams (talk) 12:17, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- And like I said, that doesn't matter. Have all the episodes been released yet? No, well, then you can't use the past tense as if that's the case. What I'm saying is, do things right and don't change whatever you feel like just because "it is common sense," because if you do it on one page, I don't think it's the only one where you do these things. Marco camino 10 (talk) 13:54, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- You can check my edit history if you think that of me. Now leave me alone and go do something better with your time, because this issue won't even matter by next morning. KeysofDreams (talk) 14:13, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
